I dont like the instant 'win', however a small advantage with a higher rank would be a good idea IMO, just 5% or something like that.

No, since it doesn't provide an in-game advantage.

I don't see the problem with increasing the probability that an obsidian rank's vote would be increased over gold. I see a lot of people say it wouldn't be fair, but why not? Obsidian paid not than gold (about 5x as much, actually), and the higher probability that their vote would be picked is totally fair.

Saying it's not fair for gold is like saying it's not fair that stone and iron don't even get to vote.

I would love it if I vote that I always win, but it would not be fair to other players. So I say no.
