Elytra Boost in Tower Defense

So I know about the easter egg with the Wings of Ether in tower defense, and I know how to boost with them to give me more momentum, but what did you do to actually boost players? As in, can I recreate it with command blocks?

Also the wings of ether break too easily.

I don't know what you mean by boost... Every time I see someone with an elytra in td it acts as a normal elytra. Faster flying speed is an option though in the settings

You can boost with the wings of ether if you hold nothing in your hands, and hold the sprint and forward keys while flying. Normally the sprint key is CTRL but I mapped it to F because it's ten times easier. The EXP bar shows you how much boost you have left, and it regenerates.
Trying to make that with command blocks.

Never heard of such a thing you can sprint fly be default but ive never heard of the wings of ether

I use R to dual wield, it's farther from my hand but I sprint way more than I switch hands
And I have no idea how to contact the devs
