Does appealing actually matter? (If you were correctly punished)

So basically I just saw a thread where someone got banned and appealed and made me wonder, will an appeal actually help with anything or possible be accepted if you were correctly punished? Feedback from experience would be appreciated also if you have any thoughts please say!

Hello,
As you know, an appeal is one of the last options in order to get unbanned / unmuted. Whenever you appeal a mute / ban, you should do it like if you were answering a history question.
In an appeal, you must explain the situation (what happened), what did I learn from that, and how will I improve it / how could I improve it.
You just have to be as accurate as possible and, most important, never lie in this kind of situations, as your appeal will never get accepted if you do.
Therefore, you have to express some kind of forgiveness, learn from that mistake, and try to improve on that.
You should know that, in life, people actually learn from their mistakes. So, in this situations, it's very important to make a first step to, eventually, grow and be more mature.

yes, appealing can get a correct punishment undone though it really depends on the moderator. some moderators don't accept any appeals from correct punishments, i personally tend to accept them when it's a first time offense and they show they're actually sorry/learned from their mistake (except some more serious stuff like threatening and cheating).

It will maybe shorter the punishment if it's permanent they can unban you after like a few months I think you get unbanned if you appeal and tell the truth when it's your first sentinel ban

In short, yes.
Let me tell you about my experience with false punishments and why are all of them undone: All of them were false sentinel bans, the first was removed a couple of months after the punishment was issued and the other two were removed in a couple of hours.
I explained the situation in a greater detail by telling what was I playing in the moment of getting banned, did I click too fast or not, or just if I lagged out/glitched.
Being honest and polite also might have positive impact on your appeal and then the chance of being unpunished will increase in general.
About being punished correctly; You might have a chance if you were honest and really did feel sorry about it, but it doesn't automatically mean that you'll get unpunished.
