Hello CubeCraft team :cube_dark:,

I would like to suggest an idea that I believe could greatly benefit the CubeCraft community and improve the overall player experience, especially for those unfortunate players who have been victims of hacking.

Proposal: Implement a formal, transparent, and secure process for transferring data and statistics for players whose accounts have been compromised and who can provide legitimate proof of ownership.

As many of you know, losing access to a Minecraft account due to hacking is not only frustrating but can be devastating. Player progress, in game statistics, ranks, and other achievements on CubeCraft servers are deeply tied to the original Minecraft account. Unfortunately, when access is lost, there is currently no official way to recover or transfer this valuable data to a new account. This often forces players to start from scratch or, worse, quit the server altogether.

Moreover, recently the community has seen an increase in hacking incidents, many of which have occurred through malicious Discord links. This has caused a significant number of players to stop playing or leave the server out of frustration and concern for their security. These situations not only affect individual players but can also harm the growth of the community.

I understand that implementing such a system would require resources, strict security measures, and clear guidelines to prevent abuse and fraud. However, I firmly believe that by allowing players who can convincingly prove ownership of their account through screenshots, payment receipts, detailed account histories, or other reliable evidence to request the migration of their data to a new account, CubeCraft could:
  • Protect the time, effort, and financial investment players have put into the game.
  • Foster greater trust and loyalty within the community.
  • Serve as a deterrent to hackers, as victims would know they have a way to recover their progress.
Although I recognize that such a process may not be easy or even fully possible given technical and policy limitations, I truly believe it is an initiative worth exploring. It would show the community that CubeCraft values its players and their hard-earned achievements.

Thank you very much for your attention and for all the work you do to make CubeCraft a fantastic place to play

Best regards,
Fermín.

I understand they need some sort of verification but cube don't have all the personal info of your account (e.g. Billing address) they only get given what they receive from Minecraft (inputs) and Microsoft (payments for things like ranks). Also, detailed account history could be easily faked because (for example) a random noob could have claimed to have someone else's account (for this example mine) and then go on my yt to fake screenshots of 'owning the account'. Okay, staff maybe be able to workout its fake due to metadata but I just don't see a quick and reliable way.

I was thinking the same thing. What if you accidentally share too much information to someone else, who then could use that information to claim that it is their account, even though it's not.

Yeah I noticed that too just by reading the thread. Feels kinda frustrating to read something that isn't made by a human. :starenoot:
