You know like Geometry Dash? You have just the normal mode AND you have a kind of checkpoint mode. I think the last one would fit better as a spectator mode. It will be a run where you can set your own checkpoints, (when you die, you get tp'ed back to your last set checkpoint) However, the run won't count. I think this would fit better, especially in hard mode, because, when you make a wrong jump, you will actually be able to see what error you made. In the spectator mode that's used right now, you can hit any block without noticing if you made an error or not.
