that is not a valid excuse for quite literally playing against the rules.

Making traps and trying to lure someone into them is one thing, camping and making your position hard to access (including, but not limited to: making traps) with no intention of getting out is another.

Making traps is just another way how to win the match. As long as player isn't breaking any rules by trapping others, I'd say it's fine.
