Java Boats in skyblock

I wanted to build an iceboat track on my skyblock island but then i noticed boats where disabled. Why? Could i ask friendly to enable it on skyblock if not in other games?

It got disabled due to people could abuse it to crash servers.

Can't we just use minecarts then?
