Currently, among Slimes is only available on 1.11 and above. However, the vast majority of the Minecraft Competitive community plays on 1.8. My suggestions is to bring Among Slimes to 1.8. Although I'm sure there's an excellent reason for this, I think it would be even more popular if you brought it to 1.8.

As My_username said, there is absolutely no difference as there is no pvp in the gamemode. Switching versions is very easy to do. Also the game is only 1.11+ probably for technical reasons, so it won't be possible to bring it to a lower version.
