I'm not 100 percent sure what this idea is.

The "pickle" is a way of getting better gear?
If so, why get the pickle, you can just get the gear.
If your idea is that you must get this "pickle", off a lot of diamonds, and then a pickle and more diamonds will get you the gear, I see no reason in doing this.
Overpowered is fine as it is -1

You don't explain if they're consumable, what they look like, and how they "give you gear"
If you have the required skill, try and implement this in singleplayer with commands, and show to people how you want to introduce this feature.
Are they like Armor Packs? Some randomly- opened surprise thing of some sort? No one knows aside you. explain your concept better, please.

Add pickles to Eggwars that can give Prot 2 Iron Gear or Unenchanted Diamond Gear in Normal Mode and Prot 3 Diamond Gear in Overpowered mode! To get these they cost 64 diamonds.

Anyways from what I read this would be waaay too overpowered.
