A few ideas from a early 2014 player.

1. Add back the monthly leaderboards

Add a page to view the top 100 of every month / year were you can check the top 100 for the month of year which would be quite cool


2. Add player stats and overall leaderboard page on the forums

this is really just extra development

If you can't ask a player what their stats are then just accept not knowing them

I am sure people will be fine with sharing their stats with you

I agree with something being done for the leaderboards. Many people will play just to get themselves onto one. So something new might encourage more people to play.
Maybe a remake of the lobbies to add monthly leaderboards as well as the current all time leader boards

To the 3rd option i would like it, the server could still be mostly 1.9 but a couple 1.8 servers

The first one is good.

The second one coukd also be a good idea, but I think players can make that choice by themselves, so basicaly you need to type in chat /registerforum or something, this will connect your stats to the forum.

The third one is not reallt necessary in my opinion.

It is, Cubecraft is a 1.9 server, I don't think they will ever go back to 1.8 because the upcoming minecraft version all include 1.9 pvp.
