HEAR ME OUT!

Cause this could change CC for the BETTER!

My idea is a simple way to make it harder for casual players and children to be exposed to the dark side of the chat

Basically, we should just have global chat set to off when people join the server and then to unlock anything beyond party chat, they have to go through the settings to enable global chat. This would keep most causal players away from being exposed to toxicity, and then people who choose to turn it on could be shown a warning in the settings that they may be exposed to harmful messages. This would at least act as filter, so a bunch of 7-year-olds don't get traumatized from old men in the chat saying the most heinous things.

I think this would help a lot because most casual players/children wouldn't know how to go and enable the chat. It would add some prevention and definitely help moderation.

It wouldn't be a big downside cause longtime players could easily configure it. With a simple server wide notification to show the new update and how to change the chat settings it will be easy for OG players to change the chat. This wouldn't harm the server either because the new players who dot have access to chat almost never use the chat anyways, and they won't even realize what they miss.

Anyways just an idea i had when reading through threads about harassment. I know this won't fix targeted harassment, but it will keep kids from being exposed.

Thanks,
have a good one

I don’t know About this, I think a lot of younger people don’t see or use the chat, They’re more focused on the game, but it’s not a bad idea!

Although i do like the idea of protecting the kids this way, its just a little bit inconvenient for the average player. Most people, well atleast i do, like to keep global chat on regardless of who is chatting. It's just the easiest way to, for example, ask questions to find something. Or maybe people wanna ask others to play together.

On another note, if people don't know how to find the settings, they are basically muted unless they use party chat. But then an easy fix would be that if they tried to chat, it would tell them where to turn it on.

Anyways, overall, cool idea, just a little inconvenient for the average player.

Nothing makes me feel as nostalgic as CubeCraft
NEWS: Summer event got released today (amazing shadow drop btw, since it didn't get in testing). There's also brand new maps which was not mentioned at all in the Notion post, which was a nice surprise. However, 5 weeks of summer is starting later (July 17 to most likely August 14).
Thanks @LemonyBreak459! for covering it since I woke up to the event releasing
