I am making this thread because skywars is kinda unbalanced for players, and because it hasn't been updated in years.

Making SkyWars last updated 661 days ago (new maps), originally 1167 days ago!!! which is only skywars duels, the real skywars update was 1286 DAYS AGO.

▶ Gameplay changes
Here are some gameplay changes i would suggest to add.
➥ Add lapis lazuli and copper armor to basic mode
➥ Lapis lazuli
Lapis lazuli is used to enchant stuff with the enchanting table, but in basic mode there is no lapis lazuli in the chests, unless the map has a block.
Which is really weird because why isn't there lapis lazuli in basic mode?
It should be added to make mid have more of a purpose, and because you can't get better stuff when you already have looted everything.
➥copper armor
(getting recent textures is hard)
Copper armor is between leather armor and chainmail armor.
Making it better than leather, worse than chainmail.
Normal mode has
- Chainmail armor
- Iron armor
- Diamond armor
- (Netherite armor)
- (Prot IV iron chestplate)
- Diamond armor
- Netherite armor
- Leather armor
- Copper armor
- Chainmail armor
basic mode: you can only get copper and leather armor including one chainmail piece from the starting island chests, while at mid there are more chainmail pieces (maybe enchanted too but won't be necessary since lapis lazuli would be added in basic mode, fire protection is useless in basic mode because there is no lava bucket whatsoever) and better stuff.
The same with Normal and OP mode, the only difference is that OP mode would have prot stuff rather than better armor.
➥ Add a heal system
Now this is an important step.
Getting kill stolen in skywars isn't uncommon, and not getting rewarded for even getting kills makes you question why would you even wanna kill people and instead of just waiting for the last 1v1.
This is why i would add a healing system, or just copy the healing system from free for all.
Depending on how much damage you do, the more health you get back, let me elaborate.
If you kill someone and took 5 hearts from him, you will get 2.5 hearts in return.
Meaning you will always get half of the hearts you stole from your enemy back.
BUT if you don't get the last hit, you won't get any health back, whether it is solo or team SkyWars.
If you hit someone but don't kill them instantly, the system will have it memorized for the next 10 seconds, afterwards you will lose your potential hearts for the kill.
➥ Decrease the supply refill timer & change the refill odds
The supply refill timer is way to high (5 minutes).
My proposal would be to decrease the timer to 3 minutes. Most of skywars games are already finished in under 3 minutes, and because people who stall the game just extend the game without you giving any possibilities to do anything.
Most of the games are just people stalling the game when it's only a 1v1, and you can't even do anything about it, even if you are at the middle.
They will just sit somewhere up with a bow and stall the game for another whatever long.
That's why i am making this suggestion to UP the chances of enderpearls and op loot spawning at the first refill, WHATEVER mode it is (basic,normal,op).
Even in basic mode you could get diamond armor if it's a 3th or 2nd refill.
The chances to get good loot is higher for chests at middle rather than other chests.
After Refill, enderpearls are supposed to be powerful items, not only to defeat the stalling, but to actually show that mid gets mobility advantage.

Skywars games should not take more than 3 refills, so after the 3rd refill, nothing changes.
➥ Remove enderpearl damage and cooldown
When you throw an enderpearl and the enderpearl lands, you will take damage.
Which is stupid and dumb, because you use the pearls to escape death, not to die.
After you throw an enderpearl, you also need to wait some time before throwing another one again.
Which kinda sucks, because if you miss the first pearl, you are basically dead because of the cooldown.
You also couldn't do cool enderpearl spam combos.
Most of the time, when you throw an enderpearl too, you will just get stuck in a block, which makes you suffocate and lose EVEN more hearts. (Most of the time even kills you with 10 hearts)
This would only make pvp better, more fun and have more sense.
➥ Change the void's height
The void in skywars is a really important part of skywars.
The problem is that it's way to high up, which gives you zero time to throw, land your pearl, or go into water that someone placed.
My proposal is to make the void 27 blocks lower, so players have enough time to throw or just so their pearl lands before they die.
There is no disadvantage to this change, and it would only make more sense, especially to mobile or console players, because they need more time to react.
➥ Add a "Thunder" time theme
*not really a gameplay change, but basically somewhat also a gameplay change
There is a Time option under voting, but there are only 2 options.
It lacks choices, and both are boring. (Day time and Sunset)
So my proposal would be to add an "Thunder" Time theme.
Which would give you goosebumps.
When the "Thunder" theme is selected, the game will start with a loud lightning strike. (lighting strikes at mid)
After that, the start will have normal night time with the moon out, but after one minute is over, every kill has a 50% chance of creating a loud lightning strike in the void.
After 2 minutes, every 5 seconds has a 4% chance to make it start raining (after raining starts it can't go away).
And once it's the final 1v1, there will be loud lightning strikes all over the place with a 50% chance of starting rain.
Remember:
- The loudness of the lightning strikes depends on how close you are to them.
- Lightnings can only go into the void, except for the starting bolt at the middle (not interfering with gameplay)
- The full moon is out at all times
- Rain cannot affect tridents in any way (or maybe it can?)
➥ Add strength I, II and speed II potions to skywars
This would be a very cool and tactical addition to SkyWars.
Right now, pvp in skywars is just clicking, and who has better armor. (Loot balance is coming in the next chapter)
So that's why i would add strength and speed potions to the game, not only because they are an important part of pvp, but also because obtaining them is tactical and requires skill.
My proposal would be to add strength and speed potions to normal & overpowered mode.
Normal Mode
- Speed II drinkable potions
- Strength I splash potions
- Speed II splash potions
- Strength I & II splash potions
Strength and speed potions only can spawn in chests that are in the middle of the map.
Refill odds
The refill odds can vary from normal to overpowered, but not by which refill it is.
Normal mode
- At the start there is guaranteed at least one strength I and speed II potion at mid (30% chance if there will be more potions in other mid chests)
- Each refill has a 15% chance to spawn a strength I or speed II potion (ONLY AT MID)
- At the start of the game there are at least two strength I and speed II potions at mid
- Each refill has a 30% chance to spawn a strength II and speed II potion at mid

➥ Loot balancing & skill based loot
Loot in skywars is very important, but it can be unfair because the odds of getting good loot is very weird.
My proposal would be to move all the good loot into the MIDDLE of the map!!!1111
You could be at mid for hours with 13 chests, while the enemy is on a normal spawn island with 3 chests and can have more diamond armor than you.
So updating the chances for the middle to have good loot, would be very good, it makes the game more competitive trying to take over mid.
Mid should give you more power and mobility advantages; otherwise you could just stand on your island and wait for the final 1v1 with better armor/weapons.
Example:
Normal mode: At the start of the game you can only get one diamond armor piece, whether boots, helmet or leggins, but the chances are really slim and causing you to get one will make your other armor worse to balance it. At mid there are multiple diamond armor pieces, diamond chestplates, diamond swords, speed potions, strength potions, enderpearls,....
▶ New weekly items
Weekly items are items that swap every week, but no new weekly item has been added in years, so i am going to make some suggestions.
1.
Heal Bath
This is a throwable splash potion which grants you full health whenever you throw it.
2.
Charged creeper
A spawn egg which spawns a charged creeper.
modifications:
- Explodes in 1 second
- Does alot of knockback
- If you spawned it, it also attacks you
3,
Knockback V snowball
A snowball which does knockback V, but only when you throw it. (not left clicking)
4.
Suspicious Stew
When you eat it, you will get a random effect. (every effect has the same chance of happening, only 1 effect at a time)

This is an infinite experience bottle, meaning you can use this bottle as much as you want and never run out!

Chorus fruit
When ate, teleports you somewhere from 50-100 blocks vertical and horizontal.

Airstrike
When you right click the rocket or "flare gun" tnt will come randomly down by a 4x4 radius for 4 seconds. ngl im not really sure about this idea
8.
Frog boots
Permanently makes you have jump boost II when wearing.

Leap feather
This already exists in cubecraft modes like "lucky islands" or "skywars chaos" so porting it to weekly items wouldn't be that bad.
▶ New kits
Kits in SkyWars are a starter set that you get when the round starts; however, not so many useful kits are in the game, so I'll be suggesting some.

The kit includes:
- boots (named: yeezys)
- Speed I drinkable potion
- helmet
- 6 steak

▶ Maps
Maps are an important part of SkyWars and pvp.
➥ New Map Ideas
The last time a new map was added was some time ago, so new maps are certainly past due.
Here are some new ideas for SkyWars maps:
- CubeCraft map; basically a map for 12 players spawning on a flat cubecraft logo, while mid is a big cubecraft cube 3d.

i know, it looks terrible, but ey i am not a builder
- One block skywars chaos map; chaotic map and probably not a good idea, but fun.
A couple more map ideas but without a concept:(mini concept and okay i'll stop building now because i i'm trash at doing so)![]()
- Gaming set up map; a 12 player map where the middle is a gaming setup with a mouse, monitor, mousepad and keyboard.
- Theme park; a 12 player map where there are random attractions, almost no void.
- Tnt run map; a 16 player map where you spawn on an normal sand island, but everything around it is tnt with sand, and mid is just made of stone.
- Skyblock map; a 16 player map where you start on the normal start skyblock island on cubecraft, mid is a remastered skyblock hub.
➥ Reintroduction of Old Maps
As we know, old maps just got added to private games, now that leaves us a question... Why not also add them to public games?
If some of these maps could be added to public games, that would be a good substitution and would feel refreshing, even though they are old maps.

Not only is this what people want, but it would be a good addition to the game.

Let me elaborate
There are going to be milestones for you to unlock a "+" in front of your gamertag.
example:
Exactly that, but in SkWars.
They can see it above your head in the lobby and in game (skywars only).
Here's an example when someone would join the lobby with more than one "+":
➥ How do i get the prefixes?
Getting these "+" in front of your name as a prefix, you would need to:
- firstly get 1000 wins in skywars (wins in every mode gets counted and combined together,)
- Then there will be quests and a page where you see how much % you are done to getting the next +
- After completing all quests and obtaining all pluses, you gain a + for every 5000 wins you get (for duels you need 15000 wins)
- There is no limit to how many "+" you can get
I also thought about adding a SkyWars shop option in the SkyWars menu, but it's kinda unoriginal and yea.
You could also unlock + colors by completing quests or getting kills.

- + 200000 kills *unlocks the ability to combine + colors with how much + you have and also unlocks orange*

Achievements for skywars would be great and an addition to the SkyWars menu UI.
➥ Daily quests
Daily quests is also an option in the skywars menu UI
This would add 3 daily quests which resets every 24 hours.
There will be 6 daily quests in total, but only 3 of them will be randomly choosen to be on the daily quest list.
The quests include
- Play 5 games of any SkyWars mode
- Get 20 kills in any SkyWars mode
- Use an enderpearl
- Get a bow kill
- Travel 10000 blocks
- Say gg at the end of any SkyWars game
The UI would look something like this:
▶ Quality of life changes
Here are some quality of life changes that would preferably make life easier and better.
➥ General changes
- Add a /stats [username] option to view other people's stats.
- Add a W/L ratio in SkyWars stats
- Add a K/D ratio in SkyWars stats
- Add the ability to favourite kits in SkyWars
- Add a reach report option
- Add the exact leaderboard position you are in next to your stats (kills, wins)

Kills: 12,923 (#9231) <-- Exact leaderboard position.)
➥ Add /spectate command
Add the spectating command to spectate other players play SkyWars or for any gamemode.
- Chat message when you spectate someone
- Chat message when someone spectates you
i hit the max cap limit for pictures so i needed to forge them
You can turn off spectators in settings under "General Settings"!
➥ Game replays
Not only would this be a good feature if you just hit a clip and didn't record, BUT, also if there was a cheater and you didn't record.
Important notes
- Replays delete itself after 24 hours.
- You can favourite a replay to make it last 3 days until it deletes itself
- You can also share replays with a link or just in minecraft chat.
- Game replays could be found under the social menu on "profil"
▶ Leaderboard Revamp
Now this is something what many people want and already suggested, but i will be going into detail.
➥ Add a kill leaderboard
Kills are counted as a stat, yet there is no leaderboard or purpose for it?
This would be an example of how the kill leaderboard would look.
Works the same as the win leaderboard but as kills.
➥Weekly,Monthly Leaderboards
As you just saw, the SkyWars menu UI had a leaderboard option, which is an option to view the TOP 10 players with the most wins and kills in the past week and month. Only for SkyWars.
It basically has the same UI when you click on the win leaderboard, but you can switch between:
- Weekly most kills/win
- Monthly most kills/wins
Here is an example:
When someone got 1200 wins in SkyWars solo and 43 wins in SkyWars duels that means he has 1243 wins on the weekly and monthly win leaderboard.
Why?
Because needing to click 10 trillion buttons to see the leaderboards makes it kinda feel useless and not important.
(7/14 edit: when i think about this now, it makes me wanna change my mind.)
➥ Leaderboard Lobby
Now this is would be a cool and a great addition to the game, not only making leaderboards actually look important, but also having an own "Hall Of Leaderboard" lobby?
The idea:
If you connect to the Leaderboard Lobby, it will always connect you to the same server and same region, whatever region you are in.
Important notes:
- Player capacity is capped at 50 players
- A small lobby going over all the leaderboard stats
- Only top 10 players get to be on the leaderboard list (example: top 3 in kills get a statue made out of their skin; gold,silver,bronze and the other top 7 just get to be on a list)
- Other unimportant top 10 stats also show in the Hall Of Leaderboard
- All the way from SkyWars solo to SkyWars chaos
- You can fly in the lobby, whether you do have a rank or not
i'm bad at building in minecraft, so i did this as an example
▶ Bugs & other suggestions
Some general bugs and other suggestions that I am not sure about or couldn't type because I hit the photo limit.
➥ Other Suggestions
- Add notch apples to SkyWars chaos
- Add elytras to SkyWars chaos
- Add fun game modifications to private games (you can toggle multiple at once)
- Permanent jump boost II for everyone
- Permanent speed II for everyone
- One block SkyWars (my map suggestion from chapter "Maps")
- Everyone only has 1 heart
- You can choose the odds of certain items spawning in chests
- Yeetnt mode (only item is Yeetnt and blocks)
- No void mode (fills in the void to ground level with barrier blocks)
- Undercover mode (you can't see anyones nametag/skin)
- Bread (fills up your whole inventory with bread at the start)
- Make the 10 second countdown in private games skippable by pressing it twice
- Remove the assist stat from solo/duel SkyWars, or actually make it work
- Add Grindstones to new SkyWars maps (versatile because it's easy to craft)
➥ Bugs
- Sometimes starting chests on the map "Punk" are empty
- A starting chest is sometimes missing on the map "Scare"
- Weekly item "Enderpearl of risk" doesn't make you half a heart after landing
- When bridging, your player tweaks up like you have aimlock or something
- When leaving before a game shortly starts (about 3 seconds) the system will still count it as a game played (every stat will be affected negatively by this)
