I think publicly shaming rule breakers should be disallowed on the forums. The reason is that if it remains allowed, people would then post threads about it instead of simply reporting the player, causing trouble and flooding the forums for no reason. Also new players don’t want to see forum users calling each other out because they “broke the server rules” and they won’t like it and would quit the forums because of that. It’s honestly quite annoying, and it should be a rule here. People are posting threads about how a specific person is autoclicking instead of reporting them and I am tired of it.

Edit: forgot to add this but here’s the punishment track for this new rule: Warning -> 24h ban -> 7d ban -> 14d ban -> 30d ban -> 90d ban -> 180d ban -> perm ban (you’re down bad if you made it this far)

Edit 2: also forgot to include that keeping public shaming FORCES STAFF to dig through the forums instead of the appropriate section for reports, significantly decreasing the efficiency of rule breakers being banned.

Edit 3: a lot of people are confused if posting a report in the wrong section counts as public shaming. It is defined as:
-Posting a player report publicly
-making threads to call out users mainly for their actions
-changing your signature or profile to throw shade at someone
-using a rule-breaker’s name as an example in a rule-changing suggestion.

NOW YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS

i entirely agree! if someone is doing something that is against the rules, then just report the player. don't make it a whole public dilemma. new players would probably be convinced that this community isn't welcoming, and that it's very argumentative. it doesn't promote anything good.

I agree but I think it should be 1 warning at first then they can give them punishment like ban and I don't think 90d ban / 180d ban it's a good idea because most arent used to this punishment and also 2 warnings might won't effect like they will continue to do this on purpose because they will get another warning so I think ( warning -> day ban -> month ban -> permanent ban ) will be better

Ok I will reduce it to 1 warning

I wish they had such a forgiving punishment track on any rule :shreklook:
Unfortunately, their punishment tracks are quite rough and maybe a bit harsh in my opinion.

Also, just saw someone publicly shame a cross teamer (and not covering their name), this is starting to get ridiculous. Why isn’t this a rule already

but now they still have to do that, since they have to punish the public?

Huh? I mean yeah but it’s a lot more efficient if there was an actual section for reporting instead of reporting rule breakers on the EggWars or SkyWars forums or something like that
People dont do it because they want to report the player. They are more like "Hey i found a stupid cheater and i am so much better" and make fun of them. If they'd make it punishable, staff would still need to go through the forums (which isn't much work at all) to check if no one does it. So for the staff's time efficiency it would not matter to much.

and even if they are trying to make fun of them it should still be against the rules as they are flooding the forums with unwanted reports

@ssf2_god That is not public shaming. The guy just did not know how to report a player. It would be very stupid to make THAT bannable, since he meant well.

There is a big difference between trying to report someone (but doing it on the wrong place) and publicly making fun of cheaters

That’s why we give him a WARNING. jeez.

My guy, that is not where this thread is about.

As I stated before, reporting on the wrong forum IS NOT public shaming. Your reasoning about why public shaming should be punishable is that it would turn Cubecraft in a toxic community. Reporting on the wrong place does not create that effect.

Again, the guy you took as an example was uninformed, and I am pretty sure that the next time he will do it right. Giving a warning would not encourage players to report rulebreakers for the second time.

I am going to quit this discussion since it's pointless and because it does not match the topic of the thread.

You just don’t get it do you 😠?

Also here’s the definition of public shaming:
-Posting a player report publicly
-making threads to call out users mainly for their actions
-changing your signature or profile to throw shade at someone
-using a rule-breaker’s name as an example in a rule-changing suggestion.
Now that should clear up all of your confusion. Posting a report publicly counts as public shaming, intentionally or not, no exceptions.

Staff can also just move those threads to the report subforum or edit them to not have player names etc

A lot of people accidently use the wrong subforum to report, these threads can simply be moved

I disagree
Yeah. If a player reports on the wrong section, staff can just move their thread and warn them. But I’m most cases Staff would instead delete the thread and warn them.
