As a beginner, I would recommend using wood or stone for most of your building and only use dirt where it's required, such as for farms or for growing trees. As you progress further, you can easily make enough money to buy lots of dirt.

For those concerned about 4 team maps for BedWars Solo and Duos, I doubt they'll be going anywhere. Remember, those maps are designed for both Bedrock and especially Java. If 8 team maps were to arrive, they'll be Bedrock exclusive and can coexist with the 4 team maps without replacing them.
