1.7 PVP is better, the hit registration makes it more clean, no it is not a meme. In 1.8 PVP there are a lot of times where you get hit particles but they don't turn red or take damage this happens a lot less in 1.7.

beta 1.4 pvp better because no stupid bow cooldown no sprinting gimmicks and better hit detection
