Update to the latest version. Delete all verisons prior. Keep 1.8 though.

Why? Because you can do this-

Yes, Supporting other versions is dumb. You need to connect with a 1.9 client, and most servers support 1.9-1.12 so you don't need to worry about changing versions for other servers,

I'm not sure, but a possible reason may be that the server would require a lot of recoding of some features to be usable in 1.12. This would probably take quite a while if that's the case.
Problem with not updating, though, is that there's only going to be more and more work to do when actually dropping <1.12 support. Again: This is only the case if what I think is actually the case.

But they’ve had no trouble updating from 1.1 to 2 to 3 to 4 to 5 to 6 to 7 to 8

I think this would work GREAT for cubecraft. Maybe some players might disagree as their favorite mod like a GUI or something isnt 1.12 compatiable, but that mod would update. I think this would be a good idea to get rid of the versions prior to 1.12 so we can get more blocks in freebuild, maybe even more colo in the hubs, abd welll... 1.8 would stay the same...

yes keep 1.8 no to keeping the other ones though but 1.12 and higher
