For anybody that plays Arcade, one of the most frustrating things for you is waiting for new players to join. This becomes an inflated problem once you get to the final three or so games, or the point at which coming first place becomes unattainable for newcomers. Often times you'll see players join the game, only to immediately leave because there are two rounds left, and the top player has sixteen or so trophies.

Two games left, top player has ten trophies. In Layer Spleef, it is no longer possible for a player to come first under any circumstance, unless the top player leaves the game. Ten points is not hard to get in eight games.

I have a potential solution to this issue, but I don't know whether Arcade fans will agree with it. The iconic physical leaderboard situated in the lobbies are amusing to climb on, and it feels awesome to see your avatar at the top of the middle pillar. This shouldn't change, however the trophy count above the avatars' heads should.

If the number of trophies possessed by each player is kept confidential, then newcomers might feel more inclined to participate, gambling a bit of their time for a chance to hit the top three spots.

Pros
-Increased overall activity in Arcade
-Shorter waiting times between rounds
-Increased competitiveness in late-game

Cons
-Much confusion from players who don't check the forums regularly for updates
-Not knowing yourself whether winning is possible at certain points of the game

Neat, I have a thousand trophies now. Thanks for the cubelet c:

I think this is a good idea, but I prefer the current way cubecraft handles the trophies. The current way is easy to see and has some great benefits over not showing anything. Thanks for suggesting this, though :)

I kinda see why you're suggesting this but In my eyes it will still affect the newcomers because they will see a high amount of trophies next to someones name. What I would suggest to solve this problem is to let players lose their trophies. So if people have gotten a lot of trophies you could still beat him and you couls win the game and take a trophie away from the other players who lost so that the chance to winning is a bit bigger.

I find it hard to get IN a game when I am not with a staff member. If a staff member isn't playing in my game, then there are like 2 players. Thats why I don't play arcade anymore and only if there are staff online. I think that should get fixed somehow. Smaller games?

Hi,

Yes, this is indeed an idea to attract more players to Arcade. Let's try it, because right now people are always leaving indeed when you have 1 game to go. When I got 30 throphies at Layer Spleef I can imagine that it's a bit intimidating for newcomers so hopefully your idea helps, but at this point Cube has a bigger problem and that is the lack of players in general. There were playing like 25K players on Cubecraft in April 2016 and now in 2017 8-9K on peak times, so It's only logical there aren't much people playing Arcade. I play Arcade everyday and I often wish I had a robe to bind the people against the wooden blocks to let them stay.

What I would like too see is that an Arcade game starts when there are 2 people or more. Now an Arcade game can only start if there are 6 people or more. That is way too much at this point to be completely honest. You must wait more then 20 minuts sometimes for a game to start when the peaktime of players playing Arcade is over. I always say to my friends: The hardest game of Arcade is the "waiting game". So if we can reduce the minimum of players that an Arcade game needs to start, then maybe people wants to play more on Arcade. And if I'm being honest I would love to play 1v1 Layer Spleef battles or Line Dash battles or even Wingrush battles.

The games on Arcade must start faster, because people hate to wait (btw GG with your achievement).

I don't really leave game if other people don't leave but it's kinda scary to play against you because I'm just bad at everything on arcade ;-; + I asked if you remember me but you just ignored me xd

I thought I answered your question at that time. If not I'm sorry. Many people are always talking to me and maybe I just didn't saw your question. To answer your question: Yes ofcourse I remember you ;) Also, please don't be scared. You are very good at Layer Spleef and Line Dash. People already leave when they see me. Stay, please :)

Also maybe another idea: Add a countdown at the lobby icons in your lobby window. Maybe that will also help to attract people to play an Arcade game.

Although I'd love for players to not leave arcade games right after joining them, I feel like removing this won't change a whole lot. Players would still be able to see how many games are left and if you join when there's only two games left it'll kind of tell players that they basically can't get first anymore. So although this could help with a few situations, maybe there's a better solution out there?

I asked if you remember me because we used to be in parties when I played on my alt xd and I don't play arcade that much now because I prefer PvP, I'm just on arcade when I can't win on anything else.

Yeah I agree, while this suggestion does fix a problem, it does so by creating a new one :/ I love this idea though:

Although it would save you a lot of waiting, it's kind of upsetting having only two players in an arcade game. I think it has proven that the current arcade system doesn't work extremely well, so I personally believe they should try something else.

If you truly don't bother why are you even replying on this thread...We are trying to think for solutions about this problem and your post is not helping at all. Come with a solution and I can take you seriously. Thank you very much...
Ok I played a bit of arcade now, and it is annoying to play with players leaving over and over. I got like 5 trophies and everyone left :'(
I cant imagine how you fell PerryJ. You get like 30 trophies and if people just leave.... then that is probably annoying

So why can a game on Archer Assault start with only 2 players while a game on Arcade need 6 players? I'm just curious.

I didn't say it couldn't be changed to that, I said that it'd be upsetting to see arcade with such a low playercount that it requires only 2 players to start a game. So that shows me that the games aren't fun enough or the system we use just isn't very enjoyable, I personally believe the second and that's why I said that they should try another system.

Sad truth is that arcade may be fun , but nobody plays it anymore. Personally I like it (barn brawl sucks though) but many ithers dont.

I See where you are coming from
however this may not be an effective way of doing this
Why? well because you'd have no clue how many points you need to win upon joining the game and would likely give up seeing someone on the top of the scoreboards because you don't know whether they have a few points that would be manageable for you to catch up to, or if they have a lot of points that you'd have no way to catch up to
that being, people would just leave either way since there is a chance of the person on top having so many points
thus the problem that started this thread would only increase the amount of times this would occur
