Hello CubeCrafters,

I hope everyone's having a great Halloween, and we hope to make your day even better! We've just enabled double points on Ender, just for today, so make sure to go and make the most of that.

If you're in the Halloween spirit, and looking for something to do, feel free to go and take part in our Halloween Art competition HERE, and yes, there are prizes to be won!

Today we also have an update following on from this Friday's Island Games update. One thing that was bought to my attention that the games remained slightly unbalanced, and over this weekend I have tried to balance out the game as much as possible, ensuring the players play the game properly.

What did we do?

To ensure that players are playing the game as they should be, we've added lots of progression into the humans. As you know, humans start with leather armour, and can upgrade their armour to iron armour over the duration of the game. The thing was, getting full iron, food and a few golden apples was too easy, and once you had this, hiding was the only way that you could win. Not anymore!

So now we've added Diamonds. The catch is, that they only form half way through the game, which means that to stay alive, you're required to get iron, and upgrade to diamond half way through the game. This means at the end of the game, you may get this intense fight with the human in full diamond armour.

But Diamond armour is not much better than Iron?

You're right! If you were playing normal Minecraft that is. There are now huge leaps in the protection offered by armour in the game.

Armour also gets slightly weaker as the game goes on. If you weren't aware, Infection is a game heavily based around Maths. We use absolutely tons of calculations to ensure that the game is as close as can be. One of the calculations that we've added is that now, iron armour becomes weaker throughout the game, meaning that it becomes easier to kill someone if they don't get Diamond. As proven prior to the update, people will run away and hide in Iron armour, and this update will make it easier to kill them. And if you were wondering, if you're still in leather armour at the end of the game, you'll most likely be killed in one shot! And this is why Maths is important in life. ;)

Infected players struggle to catch people, so can't players still run away?

Yes! Players can still run away, but now that all infected have been buffed with a speed boost, running away is a bad idea. But what if they dig a hole an hide you may be thinking. Well, infected now also have a high level of haste, so getting to you is no problem for them. And what if you swim away, well they also have Depth Strider, so there ain't no out running them now.

But this sounds impossible for humans to survive?

With a combination of Diamond armour giving you buffed protection, the new balancing changes to humans, and also... the fact that you can mine Redstone ore for health , humans are much more powerful. It's also so much fun when you get one human who it's fighting 10 infected. Rather than the human dying straight away, you now stand a chance in these large, intense brawls.

Anything else to boast about?

Yeah, totally! Here's a much faster crafting menu, means making things as a human easier. Also means that you won't die all the time like me, while I'm simply trying to draw a chestplate. As you can see in the image below, the common recipes are on the left, and all the other recipes are listed on the right. Don't worry, we've removed all the unwanted recipes!

Hope you have fun!

- Humans have been buffed.
- Armour has been buffed.
- Epic faster crafting menu to help out crafting.
- Redstone ore now heals you when you mine it.
- Certain types of armour become weaker as the game goes on, to encourage you to mine, rather than hide away.
- Health indicators above players, so that as an Infected you can actually see that you are doing damage to players.
- Infected swords now have unbreaking.
- Coal turns to Diamonds half way through the game. (This is not magic, this is science... You see they're technically both carbon and over millions of years..)
- Logs drop wood when you break them.
- Reduce chance to get golden apples from gold ore (It was just too overpowered when you're taking much less damage).
- The void now instantly kills you.
- Infected have Depth strider enchantments on their boots.
- Tweaked health regeneration.

Just add the health indicators to all the games. Why only infection?
