Any particular reason that iron and gold pressure plates were removed from crafting in Eggwars?

I protected my egg with iron trapdoors. And closed them with pressure plates. They we're a strat for me! Why did they got removed?

I Dont think pressure plates have an added value in the game

They could alert you if a player waz coming
