As the network was updated, so was some of the minigames, including one of Quakecrafts biggest issues, spawn killing. Requested on the forums, it was suggested that players should have a small spurt of invincibility, I replied in the thread stating that this isn't the solution to the spawn killing issue, it's how close and random the spawns are, yada yada, network updates, quakecraft follows and bang, spurt of invincibility after respawning.

Players running around half invincible is the most irritating thing ever, players still spawn right behind you and you don't know it, you'd have to jump around dodging their attacks for 2-3 seconds before you can actually kill them, that's almost impossible on quake.

In this screenshot, this player has just spawned right in front of me as I was running through the map, he could turn around and shoot me in less than a second, I have to wait 2-3 seconds before I can actually shoot him, see the issue? It's the spawning system that's causing the spawn killing in the first place.

I think that the spawning should act a bit smarter and spawn the player at the spawn with the least players amount of players closest to it.

My rant is now over. If you have any feedback or anything to add, do make sure that you reply to the thread.
Thanks.

I completely agree with this, The spawns are too close. You kill someone and you see someone spawn but they get a free kill on you. Or when you kill someone and want to kill someone else and you can't. This has completely changed Quakecraft and I don't agree with the changes.

I don't think the spawn protection should be removed, but instead reduced. The previous issue was that you were being killed the exact moment that you spawned, not a few seconds afterwards as once you have left your spawning block it's fair game. I think the spawn protection should be reduced to a fraction of a second so that you aren't being killed unfairly, but you aren't getting kills unfairly either.

Still doesn't work, even if they did that, it's so ridiculous, you always get people spawning next to you.

There shouldn't be spawns near the hotspots of the maps, you shouldn't have to go straight into a fight as soon as you spawn, because the player waiting for you no matter what will kill you, if it's a fraction of a second. The invincibility will always be too short or too long.

I have no problem just running away or simply going behind them and waiting a second. You should always be moving, especially with speed, so if you see someone spawn, just carry on to running then turn around?mplus, if the spawns were more spaced out, I have no doubt that another thread will be made saying that Quakecraft is no longer fast-paced as you'd spend 2 minutes finding a player, the maps are bigger than you think.

This should be in the bug reports section
It's not a bug.

Everyone storms the center of the maps because that's where all the kills are at, because that's the fastest way of finding players, that's why I requested that you change the main spawns to be outside and away from players and not random.
When you run into this kind of situation, there's a very slim chance that you won't die in the process of trying to kill the player or run away.

Personally, I think there's definitely an issue here.

Well, it's how it is on pretty much all servers, and they don' t go complaining, do they? Why don't you stop complaining about it and deal with it? It's not like we're going to keep going backwards and forth adding and readding things..

It's not like that on other servers, their spawns are set out further, which is what I'm asking to be fixed.
As you noticed, a lot of people actually agree for this to be fixed, neither is it a complaint, a suggestion.

I also nicely request that you try not start an argument with me for one day, thanks. :)

The other servers have more players in each arena so the map is going to be bigger - which means more spread out spawns. But it takes about 5 minutes to find someone in that, so then that would be complained about too.

It definitely doesn't take 5 minutes to find players, they have 0 spawns in the center, because all the players run to the center from the spawns on the outside.
