CubeCraft’s CONTENT CREATOR Dilemma

Here‘s a small question that has been bugging me. Why is CubeCraft’s YouTube presence so damn small in this day and age. I’m talking about what content is being made on the server. CubeCraft has nowhere near the amount of content as the Hive and while you can make a stance that every now and then universally known Minecraft influencers play on the sever but that’s usually because CubeCraft is decently popular and supports 1.12.2 pvp, not because said influencers enjoy the games more than ones on other servers.

While I originally thought that this was because CubeCraft’s partner program wasn‘t all that Great, but now I feel that no matter what they do to their partner program, this is a bigger problem than that. While I personally believe that the reason CubeCraft gets so little attention in the YouTube space is because they target a casual audience, which is both smart and stupid at the same time. Smart because most of the Bedrock player base are casual players so the server gets tons of players. But it’s also dumb because most of the players that watch Minecraft bedrock sever YouTube are hardcore competitive players. And the Hive seems to target a more competitive players which makes making content on the Hive a lot more appealing. Combine that with the Hive having an already established external community and CubeCraft is out here dying on YouTube.

While CubeCrat themselves are active on their social medias and DO get decent traction on important announcements, what matter more is creators who aren’t directly involved with CubeCraft aren’t making content. In 2015 and 2016, Eggwars was a huge craze and was getting millions of views on YouTube. What happened? And more important, what can they do to recreate this craze?

On Java how on earth can they compete with the Content landscape of other major severs such as Hypixel? And on Bedrock the Hive is unrivalled in terms of external creator content. While the obvious route would probably be to start competing to win over the competitive audience, it seems that CubeCraft as always is taking a risk by trying to create a completely new market of viewers instead of competing in a competition in which their competitors start with an advantage. With tons of CubeCraft youtubers quitting or shifting their content elsewhere, what can CubeCraft do to restablish their former youtube glory without sacrificing part of their casual player base? This isn’t a suggestion, this is me trying to raise awareness and I’m asking YOU as a player what YOU think CubeCraft should do to attract content creators to their sever.

Sponsorships
I believe one solution is to sponsor creators that make Cubecraft videos. This may seem odd and inefficient but hear me out; Galaxite sponsors large creators when they make a Galaxite video. They did it with PotatoPie25's Chronos video.

This worked well because now creators have an incentive to make Galaxite videos; knowing they might be sponsored. Galaxite doesn't even tell the creators to make a video, the creators tell Galaxite that they're thinking of making a video and then Galaxite decides if they want to sponsor it or not.

Tournaments
With the recent Galaxite Summer Blast creator tournament, and Hive saying they're making a $10000 Creator tournament; one question remains for Minecraft tournaments. Where is Cubecraft.

Galaxite's recent Summer Blast tournament was a huge success, getting many eyes on the server. It gave Galaxite's Youtube presence a huge boost. Cubecraft could recreate that success with their own tournament, with a cash prize for incentive to join. This would really work for Cubecraft as many large creators on Bedrock would join it; really boosting it's YouTube presence.

Overview
All in all, both of these options would really boost Cubecraft's Youtube community and help get eyes on the server. Although Cubecraft would have to put heavy investments in to either of these options. But hopefully Cubecraft's YouTube presence will grow and the server will thrive.

You make some good points. Sponsorships would require money, the problem is that the content creator shouldn’t be making a CubeCraft video just because they “might” get sponsored. That might even make people stray away from making CubeCraft content as they might think that CubeCraft would reach out to them first.

Tournaments might be a problem. Galaxite‘s tournament wasn’t that competitive but leaned on that side. Hive’s tournament is more than likely gonna be very sweaty. While CubeCraft could do a tournament that’s targeted towards the casual and fun players, that probably wouldn’t expand their Audience all that well. I think CubeCraft should host a tournament on the JAVA network and try and get mainstream Java content creators on their.

Glad this was brought up.

I think I have a few reasons why Cubecraft has literally no content being pushed compared to Hive.

One of the biggest arguments is “Cubecraft doesn’t have a community like Hive”. This usually comes from a Hive player who isn’t in the community so they don’t actually know if there is one. Circuit (the biggest CvC community in Cubecraft) recently just hit 1000 members. While it’s true we DO have a community, it’s nowhere near as big as Hives community. Hive had hit 100,000 discord server members almost a year ago now, Cubecraft is just about to hit it a year later. Another sign they have a bigger community is by how much people talk in chat. Why is it that 90% of players on Cubecraft or in game have never said a single word in chat? It’s like they are all muted. I don’t know if it’s either because they don’t care enough to chat, don’t know how to read, or their Xbox privacy settings are wack. Either way, even thought we have bigger numbers, Hive has a bigger community. When there is a bigger community, it means there’s a bigger space to grow and it’s easier to get picked up on YouTube.

Speaking of YouTube. YouTube’s algorithm does NOT help in the case of content. I’m not kidding you YouTube is very bias towards suggesting Hive content more. This is a good thing if you’re a hive creator. One of the craziest algorithm pickups I’ve seen in the Hive community is Evident. Who has now gained almost 100,000 subscribers in 9 months. You said the name “Evident” 10 months ago in the Hive community no one would know who you’re talking about. What’s unfortunate is you don’t see that kind of growth in the Cubecraft community. My channel was one of the biggest algorithm pickups on Cubecraft Bedrock. My milestone was getting 120 subs in one day and 1.2k subs in a month. On Hive, that’s what creators make in a day. Many Hive YouTubers are gaining 100-300 subs daily like its normal. Why does this happen? Not sure. But I know for a fact that YouTube isn’t helping.

Not gonna like I’d love to rant about content and stuff but I have to get ready for work so I’m just gonna say what I think would fix the issue of lack of content.

All we need is ONE big established content creator main Cubecraft content. If you’re a relatively small creator, you’re probably just entertaining people who are already part of the community. But if you’re big and have your own, you can bring MORE people to the community. How will we get one big content creator to main Cubecraft content? I’m not sure. We need someone who is genuinely already interested in Cubecraft, and possibly just needs a push to get into it. I have no creators in mind to be honest. It would be nice to have possibly Diecies or PatarHD try out Cubecraft more.

This hasn't really been that big of a deal with the few sponsors Galaxite has given out. In fact the opposite has been true; maybe with a larger sampling size it would be different, but it seems that this isn't really an issue. As for the money part, I don't know enough about how much money makes to comment on that.

The Hive‘s audience seems interested in the sever, CubeCraft’s seems interested in the game Modes which while not a bad thing, doesn’t really help CubeCraft externally at all.

I think nothing can be done until CubeCraft releases a new hit game mode like what happened with Eggwars 5-6 years ago. I don’t think there’s a reason for Hive YouTubers ( who are mostly competitive players) to make a content switch to CubeCraft as Hive settles all their pvp needs. So if there’s gonna be a creator who makes a push for CubeCraft, it would be a non-Hive YouTuber for sure, chances are it would be on the Java sever provided CubeCraft releases a revolutionary game mode.

Its just a bit hard to. Like content creators arent given tools to be able to create content, Eg have community participate in games/ do experiments. the way its done right now is slightly scuffed (sniping)

At the moment creating cube content is a bit of a struggle because of the lack of updates and when they do update u can make a couple videos out of the update but then you have to wait months again for more updates which makes creating content much harder unless you do the same video idea 5 times in a row ( totally not what i did)

That is true. But since these updates are usually to already existing games and all are very casual, there’s not really any big audience you can target as a creator. In fact, I think pixel paradise has almost been getting as much content as CubeCraft, they released a new game mode known as guess who, big creators make at least one video on it just to try and see if it’s bad. When Bedrock got parkour, I saw like literally nobody with a decently big influence make a video.

Wherever you get bad ping
I agree with Cubecraft needing to release a new game to get more content creators to play. I’m a Java player and I only seen two famous youtubers on cube so far: Wisp and TapL. Both were playing Skywars and when I saw Wisp he was streaming on Twitch. What made me sad was when I was watching his stream he said: “Hypixel is better, but this server is 1.9 pvp.” I saw TapL twice and both times he was not streaming nor making a video, just casually playing.

It’s hard for any server on Java to compete with Hypixel because it has a much larger playerbase and almost all multiplayer youtube videos are recorded on it. Even though Cube is the second largest Java server it doesn’t even come close to the sheer amount of players per day on Hypixel.

I also looked on appeals.cubecraft.net to see if any youtubers ever joined the server, and most of them never even joined.
