Hello, i feel the rule against death threats should require no 30day mute as the severety of it is just so extreme. In the rule itself it actually says how extreme it is "Suicide encouragement and death/disease wishes", in what world is it ever acceptable for this kind of behaviour to be seen by what often are minors. Just today and my encouragement for making this thread was:

So my suggestion is that death threats like shown above get a 3month mute on Cubecraft, i also wonder how the phrase "i hope your parents die in a car crash" isnt blocked. 1month is not enough for something like this

No one should ever have stuff like this siad to them on Cubecraft

pls agree :agree: if u agree or react with disagree :disagree: if you disagree, whatever you do DONT REACT UNSURE  PLZ

I get why some people would want this because it is so extreme but I also get why some people would be against this because of "everyone deserves a second chance"

For my part, I agree that it is super extreme and that it should be an instant permanent mute, but I think a fair compromise would be something like getting a 2-3 month mute, then a perma mute.

Surely its really extreme, but I don't think it should be changed. A month mute is a lot of time to regret your actions and teach you to not say such stuff again. If it does happen again permanent mute is good. Everyone deserves a second chance even if they said something terrible. This is just my opinion tho.

Maybe the guy had just a bad day and didn’t mean to say it, he said it before he knew what he did. Isn't an instant perm mute a too big of a punishment for situations like this?

I never ‘accidentally’ say things like that though…

Edit: For the suggestion I agree with a 2-3 month mute then perm.

Ofcourse it was a mistake, no one in there right mind would say something like this especially in a game like Minecraft which is riddled with minors and with that he should learn that its not accetable to say stuff like this. Lots of people make mistakes and everyone deserves another chance and thankfully with Cubecrafts moderation system everyone(most people) is(are) allowed a second chance, most times people are permenantly banned they will just appeal in a couple months and get unbanned/unmuted

But there are many people, maybe who are younger, who do under certain circumstances
there are also younger people who may not understand to not take everything completely literally and take it literally and actuall really hurt them.. this type of behaviour results in actuall real life hurt for some people rather than other rules that are just in place to decrease toxicity like swearing etc

I think this fits better as extreme hate speech, not a death threat. These kinds of comments are not a joke, though. A month doesn't seem enough for me, a severe punishment such as a 3 or 6 month mute is much more likely to make the player think about what they've done.

By joining the server you are responsible for anything you say in chat, and behaviours like this should not be tolerated AT ALL. My conclusion is it would be better to make the first punishment for extreme hate speech more severe. +1 and I hope this gets taken into consideration.

I thought it was a good idea, but not quite. Because people who do Death Threats should be punished (a hard punishment). But they should also have a chance, so I think the "Threatening" rule should stay as it is.

while a permenant mute seems harsh i dont think a 3-6month is harsh at all for what was siad, maybe it would be better to make a 3month punishment for this imo

I agree they should get a second chance, but the first mute should be a bit longer, since sometimes 1 month can be kinda short. Death threats and so on are super serious, so a good change would be making the first mute like 3 months.

Imo this should be a ban not even a mute

Dunno about y’all but I can very easily imagine a 9 year old getting salty and saying something along the lines of “go die in a hole”. Like, that IMO very obviously doesn’t deserver 3 months of being muted.

I would say this should depend on the severity and be monitored case by case but that would be too much work for the staff team.

I’ve come to an acceptance that Death Threats are nowadays often used in a joking/non-serious/humour-filled manner. Ofc when it comes the strangers this is unacceptable but some get scarred by these things, others brush it off and laugh at it. I think the 1 month is fine.

And to be completely honest. If it was 3 months I’d forget that I was even muted.

A month mute is a good amount of time, it gives u enough time to think of what you have done and why you should see the problem in yourself, 3 month mute is a reason to straight up quit the server and never look back again.
