Compromised Minecraft Account?

I tried joining the server and it said I've been banned because my Minecraft account was compromised? I have no idea what that means by the way. So I tried doing a ban appeal and it wouldn't let me because it said I haven't logged into the server before? I can log into other servers but this can't with this one and I reset my password. I'm confused.
