What has happened to CubeCraft?

What has happened to CubeCraft?!
I haven't been online for a few weeks maybe a bit longer, came back and experienced a great amount of lag.
Especially in FFA the lag has become unreal. I have never experienced so much lag on Cube Craft before and am really wondering what happened.
Is it because all of the new maps or did I miss something big?

(But for real though I need an explanation.)

Have you looked if you are on the right server (EU or NA)?

It is caused by Cubelag which is due to the servers being located on Mars and connected by Elon Musk’s “Starlink” satellites. Sometimes rebooting your router helps.

As @Goefy mentioned it might be that the server has put you on a EU/US server.

Happens a lot when I play at night. Awful lag and with just 2 or 3 maps to choose from every single time I suffer through it. First world problems.
