Hello guys today I’ll be showing my idea to Update bedrock to 1.16. Every other server on bedrock uses it, and just imagine wait the design team could do with lobbies and maps. You may say oh but they transfer code from java to bedrock but honestly they should not do that. Remember Java is on JavaScript and Bedrock is on C++ which are to different languages and if they do it, it would lead to even more bugs which I started even worse. You may say oh 1.16 is very unstable but it is the version tons of bedrock servers are on. Plus most of Cubecraft Bedrock’s bugs come from it being outdated and them transferring JavaScript into C++. Don’t go ahead and say if we Update it to 1.16 that java will die even though it won’t. Just update bedrock to 1.16 and plus 1.8 is shutting down so it won’t be holding it back. It will open the gates up for better lobbies, maps, less bugs, and more items to play with.

You see 1.16 isn’t the problem here. It’s that I don’t have want cubecraft using all their resources on bedrock specific maps. I am content with java updating To 1.12.2 and we getting those blocks like concrete.

To me instability isn’t a problem here. They could update to 1.16 and 95% of the players would switch effortlessly. But then maps created on bedrock couldn’t be transferred to java. Maybe once we’re out of new blocks And mobs say this again but for now we’re fine.

What I’m hearing from you is basically that java is holding bedrock back

The problem isn’t Java, 1.12 or C++. The problem is that it’s harder than it seems to update a server from 1.9 to 1.16. Updating to 1.12 is the easiest thing for now, and is the first step to be able to update to 1.16 in the future. This was mentioned in the community talk the other day

I ever said java is hold bedrock back. First things first those will be bedrock specific maps just like java has. Do you see how many maps java has that bedrock doesn’t have it’s unreal. Why should java bedrock share everything even though java barely shares their maps. You just want it delayed. In fact the mod team said that eventually they want to update to 1.16.

It's the complete opposite LOL, java has so much more maps than bedrock. They even said that they want to transfer java maps to bedrock but couldn't do that because the way the system works or its too difficult. Java already has every map from bedrock.
I’m well aware of that it’s kinda sad. I just don‘t want that problem to expand. having bedrock exclusive maps are almost like payback in a way. But if much rather prefer if java also got the decent maps that will be made instead of bedrock having super cool maps.

Yes I don’t want 1.16 now. I want 1.16 to be released on bedrock once java gets updated to 1.16. I want unity. I‘m well aware of the amount of maps bedrock is currently missing.

I want java and bedrock to be equal. Not different in any way. I want all java maps on bedrock and vice versa. Cubecraft eventually has to update to 1.16. You‘re saying To do it now instead of later. I’m saying to do bedrock and java together when it’s possible instead of giving bedrock the one up now.

If we start making bedrock exclusive ones maybe you see it as balancing but I see it as screwing up the plans long term. Like what if bedrock updates to 1.16 now and 5 years later java gets the maps we would get? That would be horrible.

The only way to do this would be to update Java to 1.16.5, which is a monumental task. As 1.13+ are very unstable for large multiplayer servers.

As for the argument of stopping transfering code. The only way to do this, would be to build the whole of Bedrock from the ground up again.

Although Bedrock is also updating to the equivalent of 1.12.2 when Java is. So many arguments for updating to 1.16, are already planned on being added by updating to 1.12.2.
