Thinking about new Towers.

The one thing that Tower defense is missing,

the 2x2 tower.
Now it wouldn't be a tower that attacks troops, but rather, supports enemies.
One 2x2 Tower could help the fire rate of ajacent towers, or boost damage, or maybe give towers another ability like slowing down enemies or stunning them.

or just make new 3x3 towers.
Ya that could work better.

Agreed, but I think it should be stackable, but the more you stack it, the more it costs.

3x3 towers conected to the leacher, it atack only 1 troop but can charge the leacher
