Terracotta Block Glitch

I have recently started building with terracotta, a VERY limited resource and have noticed that randomly I will mine a block and get nothing from it, this will go on for a very long time until they randomly start dropping again. I have lost somewhere close to 2 stacks of terracotta due to this. I had my island partner test to see if it was just my client and he had the same issue. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there anything that can be done about it?

I've not had this problem myself, but you should report it here, as a bug. Try to answer all the questions as detailed as possible. :)
