Honestly I wouldn't mind if staff were the only ones that could reply to support posts along with the OP. They already do this on discord and it works fine. Some people simply don't trust normal members to give them a response and always wait for a staff member and of course this happens a lot with support posts. If a player really wanted to help the player they could pm the creator or write on their profile still and that wouldn't flood the "new posts". I'm not saying the forum should be private though so people can still search up the threads later if they have the same problem.
But once someone posts a wrong answer, maybe a staff membe will be willing to correct it. I have 3 open bug report threads with no replies from a staff member.

The users are really just trying to help and I don't really see why we should stop them. Sure, their replies can be unnecessary but they aren't doing anything bad so it's just a rule I don't think we should enforce.

It'd be an extra responsibility to manage and I don't really want to do that either. Mo, you've been part of the team and you've seen how time consuming reports, sentinel appeals and replying to forum threads are. I just feel as if this rule wouldn't be enforced much since we are all busy with different moderation duties and this would be another one to cover.

They're trying to help but you aren't really helping by copy pasting the same link 4 times in a row, that (in my eyes) is just purely trying to get that message count going up. It's called message farming and it's something we punish for, although they don't get punished as they are "helping other players".

Also, I'm not telling you to go through every single thread that has ever been made to delete every unnecessary post, I'm asking you to be more strict when looking through those kind of threads as it's basically a form of message farming, which isn't allowed. I've been a mod myself and believe me, pressing the delete button isn't that much work while you're reading the messages anyway.

I see your point here and I'll try to remember to bring it up in the next staff meeting and see what other staff members think.

However, I don't really see what your proposed punishment system for this offence is though. Perhaps you could explain how you think these players should be punished?
When I was thinking about extra moderation, I was thinking that you meant PM'ing players, issuing warnings, etc. If it's just a simple delete, that's fine however I don't really think we should be issuing punishments to those just trying to help.

I mean, messages counts are literally useless internet points so I don't really see why we should inforce rules with messages unless they are posting 5 replies to a thread in a row.

I'd be happy if those messages got deleted when a moderator notices them, and the member in question who often does this will get warned and if they continue doing it they'll be receiving a temp ban, just like how we punish on the forums for swearing etc.

Sorry for going off topic but I just noticed that stricter is not a word , thought I'd let you know .

Anyway , please , If you happen to casually see a thread where this happens , delete the posts . Staff needn't be on the lookout for these comments or anything . Just do something about it when you see it happen.

As we all know, messages "are" useful if you want to apply for staff, as you need 50+ messages to be accepted, ..hopefully. I get your point of helping others Niko, but it's so annoying to see all the same messages over and over as all they want is apply for staff and get as many "help" messages as possible.

Yeah, I completely understand what you mean when you say this.
I stand by my earlier comment:

Gainfull 1 I know what DYD was trying to get at with that but I am saying that iCheeetah couldn't be making a pointless post if he was the first 1 to do it
I didn't say they were pointless post but they are a lot less necessary than people explaining there reason for disagreeing
Well if you only see wannabes on the forums ...
So you say, saying anything makes you a wannabe
You are being 1 than with that logic
For example people were calling out LanceDaniels for doing something like this
Except commonly his messages were in Spanish if the players were also speaking Spanish
As well as most of the time his message was more descriptive in what to do

Anything we say does not make us a wannabe . Makes me question your logic .

Second, how did this become a thread about LanceDaniels and his spanish messages?

Third, what did LanceDaniels do ? Was Noodle one of the people who called him out?Ye ik this statement is hypocritical.

Well if you'll take this into consideration once you'll have another staff discussion, then all I have to say is; mission accomplished. Lock this thread please, thanks in advance x.
