I don't think it has changed much tbh. It's just vanilla knockback. Maybe the players you fight are just getting better at avoiding combo's?

You know you are right, the players has improved a lot, especially right now like majority of cubecraft players has become better than before

I kinda agree. The knockback feels a bit different, and it seems harder to keep consistent combos compared to before. It’s not necessarily bad, but it definitely changes how fights play out. Might just take some time to adjust, though I can see why it feels off for people who were used to the old feel.

I feel the kb really depends on the players. Sometimes they don't really take much kb and the other time they take LOADS.

I personally love the kb as it is. I don't find it difficult to make combos and stuff. Also, I feel this kb is great for strafing or w/s/d-tapping, give it a shot!

I totally agree with you, Where it depends on the player’s ping if it was high his Kb will be weird.
