No, there are 3 different types of kits, only the op kits cost a lot, you can always go for medium or basic kits :)

I know they seem like a lot know, but that just makes it more fun to get them :) if you want a kit badly, just buy a medium or basic.

Like Exciting_pancake said you can also go for a cheaper kit or safe up your in game money to buy a higher/better kit.
Also like tiger101tiger said it makes the gameplay more interesting. It takes longer to get better kits which means that you will have to work hard to get them. Kill players and win games! ;)
