Saying cape in chat

Hey there,

I'll start with a question and after the question a suggestion.

Why can you say cape but you can't say cape in a sentence?
I'll give an example with a short video that's easier:

Suggestion:
Change it if it's possible because now people have to say: c4pe c*pe and other things. But it can also be an unkown bug and nobody knows how to change it but I doubt it :p

I think they blocked it because alot of scams were around it. Since links are blocked nowadays I think we can all agree that it is unnecessary to keep this blocked ;)

So because of scams they blocked it? But it isn't helping because if they unblock cape they can still block links so there isn't a problem right?

They blocked it because of alot of scam sites, now that thoses sites are blocked, here comes the typo :rolleyes:, I think we can all agree that it is unnecessary to keep it blocked ;)

But if they unblock cape does that mean people can scam? That is making sense btw :P and you're saying they should unblock the sites?

The reason why you can't say 'cape' in a sentence is because there are scammers out there who scam with links and put the word 'cape'. So, we decided to block the word

But you can't even say: www.google.com, so there is something blocked that you can't send links doesn't that mean that you can unblock cape and still can't send links?

Links are blocked for the same reason, it stops scammers quite a lot as their link will not go through to chat, as well as stopping advertisers.

As for cape, it was blocked because there were many "Free Optifine Cape!" links going around, and was blocked as a result.

I just want to know how it works but if links are blocked why is cape blocked in a sentence if you can't send a link but you only can say "Free Capes!"
Then it's unnecessary to block the word cape right?

i think it is the word buy that messes it up because i am pretty sure it has nothing to do with the word cape but rather the rest of the sentence all in the same message

Hmm, I'm pretty sure cape is a swear word in another country. I personally would just deal with doing c@pe or something like that. Remember, it's hard to have a clean chat room when there are a lot of languages being spoken in the chat. Well, the community is very multi cultural which I like. So, just remember that :P

I don't mind saying c@pe but I was just wondering why you can't say it. And cape a swear word ;-;

I highly doubt that "cape" would be considered vulgar in any region...
