Hey!

I have a suggestion that could be implemented on both Java and Bedrock: rewarding players with experience points (levels) simply for playing.

To reward players for the time they invest in games, players could receive a certain amount of experience after playing for a specific period of time.

For example, every 10 minutes in an EggWars game, a player could receive 50 experience points! I chose 50 because it represents 20% of the experience you get from winning an EggWars game, which feels well-balanced. The reward could be around 20% of the winning experience in each respective gamemode. I believe winning should remain more rewarding than simply playing, but players should still receive something in return for the time they invest.

This system would reward players who tend to play longer games but don't win as often. I've personally played EggWars games that lasted for more than 2 hours, only to lose in the end. It feels a little disappointing to earn barely any experience despite spending so much time playing.

To prevent players from abusing this system, I would recommend a maximum cap of 2 hours per match so players cannot stay in a game for too long just to farm experience.

I believe that this could be implemented across most gamemodes, including EggWars, BedWars, SkyWars, and others.

I'd love to hear your thoughts! What do you think about rewarding players for playing?

Hey, hope you doing well 🤗

Great idea! I just think the XP rewards should be a bit lower and players should have to move around in the match for the time to count to prevent AFK farming.

Best regards 🌹

Hey, I understand your point. I chose this amount of experience points because I feel that it is pretty balanced compared to how much experience I can get from just farming wins. In only 10 minutes I usually get around 625 experience points. To reach that in an Eggwars game with this system you would need to play for around 70 minutes and win the game compared to the time it takes for me to get a few wins in the same time if I am going for fast games. Because of that I already believe this experience amount per 10 minutes is decent.

this could work great, but maybe after 3 hours of repetitive playing then you stop gaining XP, and that is the limit for the day.

I don't necessarily thinks that there should be a limit as there isn't a limit to how many wins you can get per day and the experience from that. Therefore I believe that a limit is not needed but I understand your concern.

that makes sense, i agree that if there is no limit, then maybe every 10 minutes you get 15 XP.

I believe this suggestion could result in passive play getting rewarded more or if playtime rewards occur outside of actual games could encourage afk behavior which I do not know if thats what the cubecraft team wants.

Hey! I am not necessarily sure how this could be implemented well into gamemodes like Skyblock which is why I didn't mention it. It would be great though if players whö play Skyblock could also get some experience. In games that have an ending winning will still be more worth it even with this addition so it shouldn't lead to players playing passively.

Yeah, I think lowering the amount of XP you get is better than giving more but having a time cap.

I especially think something like this would be great for Skyblock since players spend so much time but don’t earn XP.
