Hey!
I have a suggestion that could be implemented on both Java and Bedrock: rewarding players with experience points (levels) simply for playing.
To reward players for the time they invest in games, players could receive a certain amount of experience after playing for a specific period of time.
For example, every 10 minutes in an EggWars game, a player could receive 50 experience points! I chose 50 because it represents 20% of the experience you get from winning an EggWars game, which feels well-balanced. The reward could be around 20% of the winning experience in each respective gamemode. I believe winning should remain more rewarding than simply playing, but players should still receive something in return for the time they invest.
This system would reward players who tend to play longer games but don't win as often. I've personally played EggWars games that lasted for more than 2 hours, only to lose in the end. It feels a little disappointing to earn barely any experience despite spending so much time playing.
To prevent players from abusing this system, I would recommend a maximum cap of 2 hours per match so players cannot stay in a game for too long just to farm experience.
I believe that this could be implemented across most gamemodes, including EggWars, BedWars, SkyWars, and others.
I'd love to hear your thoughts! What do you think about rewarding players for playing?
