It actually does. On Java you unlock the option to change your rank using /colour in chat by purchasing the iron rank.
On Bedrock it's a bit different. You need to reach VIP Level 1 to unlock the username colors, and in order to do that you need to earn VIP Levels by purchasing loot from the server. All of those options can be found in the Cubecraft Store in the Pause Menu while logged into the server.
