It gets things done, having a multiple core has 4 or more of them doing it at once, helping the processor to "calculate" faster.
Divvy has a dual core (dual = 2, it says 1.50GHz twice)
My computer is a dual core too (2 x 2.53 GHz)
Just as Drew McNamee said, the more 'cores', the faster it is able to calculate stuff.
Also, your screen gets resfreshed more often.
3 Times refreshed per second > 3 new images per second > 3 fps.
60 Times refreshed per second > 60 new images per seconds > 60 fps
Etc.
Btw, if you want a good pc, you should only buy a good graphics card, because if you use an awesome graphics card with an i3, its still not gonna run smooth :P

I recently upgraded to Windows XP. That stuff is hi-def! I mean come on, that stuff is like real life! ;) Now when I get on the internet, it only takes 15 minutes to load up google :P
just incase some of u don't know, laptops are most likely unupgradeable. most high end gaming laptops can possibly be upgraded. so if u want gaming, buy a desktop. easy upgrade and is cheaper than a laptop.

Basicly, you got dualcore, quadcore, sixcore and 8cores.

Lul? I know the solution! http://downloadmoreram.com/!!! It's free RAM, should up your performance, I recommend 2GB more, 4GB more can slow down your CPU.
