Coding Ludum Dare 36 - 72 hours to make a game from scratch

So myself and @LowFat have decided to participate in Ludum Dare 36! Ludum Dare is a 48 hours game development challenge where you are given a theme and only 48 hours to make an entire game from scratch! You can find more info about it here - http://ludumdare.com/compo/

I figured it might be kinda fun to make a thread and update it as we progress with our game. Some of you might find it fun/interesting to see a game get made in just 48 hours.

The challenge starts in about 30 minutes, will keep this updated!

We were FAR from finished by the time the time ran out, so please keep in mind that this is a VERY unfinished product.

Btw, for the people who wonder what Ludum Dare means, "ludum" comes from "ludus", which means game in Latin. Dare could also come from Latin (Dare Do, which is the verb "to give"), but I think it comes from the English verb "to dare". If you translate it correctly and fluently, you should end up with something similar to "Game for the bravest".
I could be totally wrong though...
