Issue with uploading my avatar

Tried to upload a avatar and... yes it's probably very understandable but there wasn't even an extension so..

What's the name of the file, what kind of file is it, and where does the source file originate?

Try making a copy of it, giving it a different name and, if possible, save it as a png. Try uploading that one instead.

errhhh no didn't work, and do you mean adding the .png extension onto the end?
