Cubecraft have previously been noted for their unique variety of games, but it's disappointing to see them veering towards copying rather than innovation the latest bedwars mode, which seemingly mirrors Hypixel or Lifeboat. "Innovation" has always been Cubecraft's forte and it is sad to see how they are digging their own hole.

Also, we are very excited to announce the release of our new Bedrock game, BedWars!
Now, I know what a lot of you are thinking; BedWars is the same as EggWars. However, this is not the case, as we have redesigned the game from the ground up. This means that BedWars will bring a whole new experience to the table. BedWars was listed on our public notion board at the start of February, as Secret Project #2.
So, without further ado, let's show off some of the wicked features of BedWars:
Beds
Beds are the most important part of the game. You must protect your bed at all costs. If your bed is broken, you'll no longer respawn! However, destroying your enemies' beds will deny them the ability to respawn.
If you are the only team left alive, you win the game!
Shop
The shopkeepers are your friends. BedWars has two types of shopkeepers, one which sells items and the other which sells upgrades for your whole team. The shops require you to gather money from generators located around the map.
From the item shop, you can buy a variety of items that will help you in your quest to protect your bed or attack your enemies!
From the upgrade shop, you can buy upgrades for your whole team. Here is a list of the upgrades:
- Diamond Generators: The generator located on your island will now produce diamonds.
- Faster Generators: The generators on your island will produce twice as fast.
- Regen Boost: After 5 seconds of taking no damage, you will start to regain health. This upgrade doubles the speed of this regeneration.
- Health Boost: Gives you, and your team, a permanent two extra hearts.
- Sword of Sharpness: All your team's swords gain sharpness I.
- Armour of Armouring: All your team's armour gains protection I.
- Iron Age: Permanently upgrade your teams' stone axes and pickaxes to iron tier.
- Terrifying Turrets: Your turrets gain extra protection and do increased damage.
Helpers
In BedWars, there are three types of helpers.
Enderman Builder
Contrary to what Endermen normally do, these helpful guys will build a bridge for you (as opposed to stealing your blocks).

The skeleton turret can be placed down anywhere on the map and will shoot at anyone who gets near! Enemies will need to be aware of the skeleton and make sure to not get accidentally knocked into the void!

Totems
Totems are at the very heart of BedWars! Totems will grant players in their line of sight with a potion effect. Positive effects will be given to you and your allies, while negative effects are given to your enemies when nearby.
For now, there are three totem types:
- Regeneration
- Mining Fatigue
- Blindness
Totems
Totems have a crazy amount of counter-play! Having mining fatigue can make it very hard for enemies to get to your bed. They can, however, shoot the totem with a ranged attack. Since glass doesn't block line of sight, you can protect your totems with glass. This can, however, be destroyed with a fireball, and so you might end up protecting your totem with blast-resistant glass instead.
Beta Games Subscription
We announced last week our Beta Games Subscription! BedWars will be launching with a voting option which you can unlock with the subscription. The voting option will triple the speed of generators in the game. This is a truly chaotic game modifier!
Making these games isn't cheap, and so money made by ranks and subscriptions does go towards supporting the development of games like this!
The Beta Games Subscription will also unlock map selection, so you can pick from our awesome maps... awesome segway time...

Enjoyed it very much! But the fireballs can be very cursed at any moment either nuking another team out of existence or launching yourself into the void. Could just be me but the knockback also feels a little weird on this. Overall I think they cooked up something good which is a nice switch up to eggwars.
From 2015-16 being the most original server to this. A new variant of a game every server has to get new players... great or something? 
From playing a good few matches I can say what I personally think about this new mode:
- default generator speed needs to be increased. I understand faster gen voting is a perk with purchasing the rank however I believe that the default generator speed is too slow for fun and fast paced gameplay. It just feels like you have to remain still and spend a large amount of time just to build a valid defence and gear up to fight enemy players.
- A "gen splitting" mechanic is needed. Often, Inexperienced players who don't know how to play the game will harm the entire team by sitting inside the generator for excessive periods of time, without even putting the collected resources to good use. A "gen splitting" mechanic will give each player who's sitting in the gen an ingot each, every time a single ingot spawns. this prevents single individuals from hogging ingots as the rate that players receive them will remain the same no matter how many people are in the generator.
- The feature that alerts you when a player is near your bed, doesn't fit very well for competitive gameplay. This feature should be implemented as a purchasable perk/upgrade/trap, not on by default.
- Add a chest gui as an option for players, while making sure the layout of items in the shop matches or is similar to how other servers do it. This makes the learning curve less steep for players who already know how to play bedwars and want to enjoy it using their prior-bedwars skills and muscle memory.
- Auto bridgers are too powerful and don't fit well with the rest of the gameplay, the sheer size of them means that players end up not using them for their intended purpose, such as using it to built forts or cover up large areas of the void, Inadvertently putting themselves at a disadvantage as enemy players can easily access the base. auto bridgers would be more balanced if the bridge was a single block thick, but also materialises faster. (similar to bridge eggs)
- The maps seem a bit too small when taking into account bedrock bridging mechanics, once a player has built to mid it is a trivial process to access all the areas with barely any blocks.

fireballs travel too fast and don't work very well, they should behave how fireballs do in literally any other bedwars on other servers, and make it usable for fireball jumping
It’s heartbreaking to see cubecraft wasting their “limited resources” on stuff like this.
The game looks so raw, maps look low-budget: all of this, but quality game updates.
Eggwars is a predecessor of a game that you’ve copied and it makes no sense! The thing that you’ve pulled is nothing but a not-so-thought business move that will split the playerbase between 2 games, making you work twice as hard, and eventually giving up on one of the games.
Please make quality UIs and eye-pleasing effects, otherwise you’ll end up releasing something that is Hypi- CubeCraft bedwars…
