I have played SkyWars for a while now, and after

, I have come to a conclusion: it's getting boring :rolleyes:. SkyWars is the game I play the most.
I think it's time to add something new to make SkyWars more challenging and fun :d


SkyWars Extra Challenges Side Tasks / modifiers
What are Extra Challenges Side Tasks?
Edit: At first I called them "Extra Challenges", but @Lezappen suggested a better name
Side Tasks are harder to do than normal challenges. When selecting a Side Task, you'll be teleported to a random game with a modifier. This modifier will make it harder to win. Modifiers are like "negative kits", but you'll earn extra XP and points for winning the game.

About the Side Tasks:
  • If you select a modifier to play with, you may or may not be the only player in the game using it. If you select, idk, a challenge which makes you have 5 hp, you may be the only one in the game with it - the other 11 players may have 10 hp. This will make it a real challenge. The rewards you'll earn are worth it.
  • Only 1 modifier can be enabled at a time.
  • You can't be in a party when selecting a Solo SkyWars Side Task.
  • These Side Tasks can be done unlimited times.
  • You'll earn the extra rewards only if you win the game.
Random Kit
Description: you are given a random kit that you own at the start of the game.
Requirements: 5 or more kits unlocked.
Rewards: 25 XP, 15 points (when winning the game. If you win, you'll earn 125 + 25 = 150 XP, and 25 + 15 = 40 points. This applies to all challenges.)
Tough Life
Description: you are not given any kit at the start of the game.
Rewards: 25 XP, 15 points.
Sprained Ankle
Description: you take double damage from falling.
Rewards: 25 XP, 15 points.
Zero Intelligence
Description: you can't craft or enchant items.
Rewards: 25 XP, 15 points.
No Projectiles
Description: you can't use projectiles.
Rewards: 25 XP, 15 points.
Decoy (@RemiTheSheep)
Description: every time you open a chest, fireworks explode 10 blocks above the place you are. (They deal no damage.)
Rewards: 25 XP, 15 points.
Glowing Personality (@Lezappen)
Description: the player has spectral effect when crouching, or when he hasn't been in combat for 30 seconds, making him a target.
Rewards: 25 XP, 15 points.
Small Pockets (@Lezappen)
Description: 5 slot inventory (+armor slots).
Rewards: 35 XP, 20 points.
Unlucky (@Lezappen)
Description: ??? (random chance for: placed block to turn into/be gravel, mined diamonds turn to coal, TNT to auto ignite when placed, wood log to drop 2 sticks when chopped and other terrain hazards, nothing that affects PvP.)
Rewards: 35 XP, 20 points.
Bunny Strategy
Description: you can only attack in mid-air.
Rewards: 35 XP, 20 points.
Weakling
Description: all projectiles dealt to you have +1 level of knockback.
Rewards: 35 XP, 20 points.
Weakling 2
Description: players take less damage from you.
Rewards: 35 XP, 20 points.
Ovaphobia
Description: 50% off eggs and snowballs thrown at you deals half a heart damage.
Rewards: 35 XP, 20 points.
Traumatized
Description: you'll get nausea for 2 seconds, 5 seconds after attacking a player.
Rewards: 35 XP, 20 points.
I See Dead People (@RemiTheSheep)
Description: every time when you kill someone, a skeleton spawns at the place where you killed them.
Rewards: 35 XP, 20 points.
Light Weight (@Lezappen)
Description: doubles any knockback taken (even TNT).
Rewards: 75 XP, 50 points.
Afraid Of Running (@RemiTheSheep)
Description: you can't run.
Rewards: 75 exp, 50 points.
Hydrophobia
Description: you take damage from water.
Rewards: 75 XP, 50 points.
Hoarder
Description: you can't throw anything out or put items in chests.
Rewards: 75 XP, 50 points.
Out Of Breath
Description: when sprinting, you have blindness.
Rewards: 75 XP, 50 points.
Hell
Description: you're constantly on fire. Fire deals 80% less damage to you than it does normally. Water does not extinct fire. You can't select the pyromaniac kit.
Rewards: 75 XP, 50 points.
Poison-Hearted
Description: you get 5 seconds of Poison I every time you take fall damage.
Rewards: 75 XP, 50 points.
Everything I Touch Turns To... Sand? (@RemiTheSheep)
Description: every block you touch with your feet turns to sand. That means that you have to come up with new strategies to build to your enemies!
Rewards: 100 XP, 75 points.
Dash Mid
Description: you can't open/destroy spawn islands chests. You can open chests ONLY in mid. You can't select a kit. You're given 6 blocks at the start of the game.
Rewards: 100 XP, 75 points.
Camper
Description: you can't open/destroy middle/outer chests. You can open chests ONLY at your spawn island. You can't select a kit.
Rewards: 100 XP, 75 points.
Not A Thief
Description: you can't pick up items from the ground, you can't open chests. You can only use the items that are given to you at the start of the game:
  • If it's basic chests: you're given leather chestplate and boots, a wooden sword, 10 blocks and some food.
  • If it's normal chests: you're given chainmail chestplate and boots, a stone sword, 1 golden apple, 20 blocks and some food.
  • If it's OP chests: you're given iron chestplate and boots, an iron sword, 2 golden apples, 30 blocks and some food.
^You can only use these items to win the game^
Rewards: 100 XP, 75 points.
Achilles' Heel
Description: you can't jump.
Rewards: 100 XP, 75 points.
"Oops I Dropped My Sword"
Description: you can't use swords. Learn to fight using an axe, noob >:v
Rewards: 100 XP, 75 points.
It's Alive! It's Alive! (@RemiTheSheep)
Description: when you open a chest, a baby zombie that rides a chicken will follow you.
Rewards: 100 XP, 75 points.
No Armor Needed
Description: you can't wear armor.
Rewards: 200 XP, 150 points.
Pacifist
Description: you can't use any weapons. Hands-fight time!
Rewards: 200 XP, 150 points.
The Ground Is Lava
Description: fall damage kills you in one hit.
Rewards: 200 XP, 150 points.
Hunger
Description: you have hunger (-1 bar/point every 8 seconds).
Rewards: 200 XP, 150 points.
Adventure Mode
Description: you can not place or destroy any blocks.
Rewards: 200 XP, 150 points.
Hallucinating
Description: you have Nausea II and Blindness.
Rewards: 300 XP, 225 points.
Honor-less
Description: you can't hit any other player. Yeah, you've to trap them or just wait 'til they die accidentally.
Rewards: 300 XP, 225 points.
Sniper
Description. You can only use bows and food. You can't place blocks / use swords/axes/pickaxes/etc.
Rewards: 300 XP, 225 points.
Sin Payment
Description: every time you kill someone, your inventory is cleared. You can't pick up items from the ground.
Rewards: 300 XP, 225 points.
No Food
Description: yep,... You can't eat.
Rewards: 300 XP, 225 points.
Half-Health
Description: you have a maximum and starting health of 5 hearts.
Rewards: 300 XP, 225 points.
I Need To Kill (@RemiTheSheep)
Description: your maximum hp will decrease by one heart every 30 seconds unless you kill a player. You have to kill someone every 30 seconds. If not, your hp will decrease to 9, and then to 8, to 7, etc.
Rewards: 400 XP, 280 points.
Note: this modifier can't be used in Team SkyWars, since it's impossible to do it in certain maps (Candy, PacMan, etc.)
One Heart
Description: you have a maximum and starting health of 1 heart. You have higher chances to find golden apples from chests.
Rewards: 500 XP, 350 points.
Edit: I removed the Side Tasks for Team SkyWars examples, cuz
I think the challenges should only be in Solo, as it only affects one player and one player only, and if you want to do the challenge, thats at your own pleasure and risk. I just don't think the Team version will be used a lot and it wouldn't be worth adding it into Team mode. The players on the team should be using the same challenge, and getting the players for that will be low, most of the time you'd be in a game waiting, which we all know isn't fun.
I only wrote examples for SkyWars, since it's the gamemode I play the most.
This suggestion could be added to Lucky Islands, too.

Now, for example, if you want to play with the Half-Health modifier, you will go to the menu and click on it. When clicking on it, you'll join a random Solo SkyWars game with only 5 hearts. If you win the game, you'll earn the extra rewards (300 XP, 225 points) + the rewards you would earn if weren't playing with the modifier (125 XP, 25 points). That makes a total of 425 XP and 250 points.
Also, if you win, an announcement will appear in chat:
Spuuuni won the game and did the Half-Health Side Task!
Congratulations, you win!

+125 Experience
+25 Points
+300 Extra Experience (for doing the Half-Health Side Task)
+225 Extra Points (for doing the Half-Health Side Task)

Also, add new normal challenges to Solo SkyWars:
Complete all Side Tasks easy difficulty in Solo SkyWars - Rewards: 35 XP, 20 points
Complete all Side Tasks medium difficulty in Solo SkyWars - Rewards: 100 XP, 75 points
Complete all Side Tasks hard difficulty in Solo SkyWars - Rewards: 300 XP, 225 points
Complete ALL Solo SkyWars Side Tasks - Rewards: three Uber Cubelets

...and add some of the Side Tasks to the Daily Challenges thingy.
- Kill 2 players in lucky islands 0/2
- Place 8 towers in dower defence 0/8
- Do the Half-Health Side Task in solo skywars 0/1

I love it! Balancing is pretty good but not perfect, that can be improved though. My only issue is that you should remove the blindness ones because they are too hard as you can't sprint or see.

The other issue is that people can just exp farm with this really easily when all joining at the same time so I'm not sure if it can work

True, maybe you shouldn't be able to do the same challenge more than once a day. They could still XP farm but it'd be harder. Also it's not easy to join a game with 11 friends at the same time

True, maybe you shouldn't be able to do the same challenge more than once a day. They could still XP farm but it'd be harder. Also it's not easy to join a game with 11 friends at the same time
you could get 11 in a party with no modifier and you together which wouldn't be hard to do

This chagenlles can have a lot of problems
People enter on a party.

The people doing the chagenlle start camping, and his friends kill all witout make teaming.
And the last alive suicide, congratulations :Dthe camper win without do nothing :)
