How to collect glowstone?

I’m having trouble, as I am only getting gliwstone dust. I have tried using silk touch and fortune. Neither seem to work. Please help!

For the quest you need the glowstone dust. There is no way of gathering glowstone blocks, you’ll have to craft them. Using the glowstone dust gathered from trees or witches.

You will really speed the process up by making a witch dropper. It is the same build as the pigman dropper that I have on my YT channel.
