Glowstone tree roots

Can you get roots from the glow stone tree, or do you have to buy a new root each time to replant?

You can get it from a tree

when you break a block it has a low chance of getting a sapling, personally I get 1-3 per tree.

Ah i got some now, it was just I was unlucky breaking my first two trees I didn’t get any.
