Fishing help

Don’t let the title confuse you I can fish irl or in a Minecraft server but, I’m having trouble with the “slippery situation” quest. I went to the jungle and tried to fish, but the bobber never moved like it does in a regular server. Does anyone know how to fix this or is there a different fishing mechanic?

Yeah, that happens to me. Kinda annoying to be honest.

The bubbles in the water indicate a fish just reel in as soon as the bubbles are at the bobber

There are no fishing machine and no atomatic fish farm
