Before I go into a giant yap about everything Cubecraft is doing wrong, I just want to say that nothing that I'm about to say is meant to insult or offend anyone. It might sometimes look rude but I'm just irritated about the footsteps of this server, which is why I'm making this thread.

So back in December and November, I made 2 different threads (linked here and here) explaining many things that Cubecraft is doing wrong, but those threads are a bit outdated, yet they are still relevant right now at the same time. Since necroposting is not allowed, the posts won't gain any more traction, even though they should, so this will be an updated version as of September 2026.

My main topic is simply just the moderation of the server. Aka hackers.

Just a week ago, you wouldn't have been able to play 3 GAMES, 3 GAMES!!!! of Bedwars (I'm guessing other games too) without encountering a very blatant hacker. The hacker would farm you, simply get diamonds or kill every team right away. No matter how many times they get reported, they never got banned, because they left, or cc just doesn't pay attention. I want to take a quote from my previous post's replies, "/sr is like gambling on a slot machine". If the player logs off, the report is salvaged. If too much time has passed, the report is salvaged.

Personally, I am an Asia player and have only seen 2 moderators in my lobby before. I know there are definitely very few moderators who operate in Asia, as out of all the hackers I've reported (during that time), there were 0 that actually got banned. I already know what a moderator is gonna say if they see this thread; "Use the forums." The forums, in my opinion, are a complete waste of time. Cubecraft is mainly made up of little kids who play on mobile devices, and these people will not have time to go to a random website on the internet to report a random hacker. Even if the hacker gets banned, 90% of the time, they will create a new account, circumventing the ban entirely. If you're a CC player who wants to snipe someone you don't like in say, duos or squads, it's as easy as making a new account and getting a hacking client and a VPN. I agree there is very little that can be done about this, but these people use the same handful of clients most of the time. Cubecraft should be perfectly capable of implementing an anticheat like the Hive, yet they refuse to do so for some reason, even though they are one of the largest servers on Bedrock.

Going back to the forums though, people a lot of the time don't record their gameplay of Cubecraft. Me personally, recording gives me a huge amount of random lag when turning my camera. If you're not on a mobile device, where it is extremely difficult to record gameplay and edit it, you are most likely on a laptop that has a limited amount of space. This pretty much means that the only people who regularly record their gameplay are PC players, and even then, the forums are so disorganized that making a report, a lot of the time, is confusing. You also either need to publish a youtube video, or use a program like mediafire to attach footage to a report, which doesn't make sense in the slightest to me. This is a minor thing, but it's still annoying to go through just to report a player. Keep in mind that this is 75% of the time the only way you can get a player banned from the network.

Another thing I want to mention is applying for moderator. The Cubecraft team, as Thjis stated, does not have 200 moderators (as of November 2025). I feel like that is really the bare minimum that a server can have, and Cubecraft still fails to meet this. It's likely due to the application criteria. You need to be active on the Discord server and the forums A LOT, and most people who have a life don't spend a lot of time on either of them, especially the forums. I applied for moderator twice, and my application was unsuccessful obviously because I'm not active on the dc or the forums at all. The demand for Cubecraft moderation is probably mainly to be able to ban cheaters on the Minecraft server itself. If Cubecraft removes this criteria from being able to become a moderator, they'd definitely get many more moderators, ban more hackers, and give a more enjoyable experience to the average player.

I have, however, noticed that Cubecraft, in the last week, has been doing a much better job at banning hackers both when they're on the server (through /sr) and through the forums, when they are offline. The amount of hackers has decreased, at least in the Asia region, by ~60% from my observations since last week. A hacker is almost always still present every 10 or so games, but they aren't as blatant, often using either fly, reach, or speed, and rarely a combination, so they don't get banned a lot of the time. Blatant hackers appear every 20 or so games however, and playing against them is practically impossible. As I've said, I can already smell the moderators spamming "Use the forums" in the replies, but since very little people both have access to the forums and have footage of someone hacking, this isn't very efficient.

Another thing I want to say is the inconsistencies of getting into a specific server, like Asia. In BW duo, players in the early morning get put into NA servers, DE servers (someone please explain what they are) or just EU servers. This keeps happening, at least for me, until 11 am, and is very tedious to be able to simply play on your own server.

If any moderator is seeing this, please reply and tell me your thoughts.

Peace out

That's incorrect, people who got helper/mod in the past haven't been active in Discord and/or the forums.

Too little players on your region, so you're put to the closest region with players that are on it. If you were on a region for such game that that time queue would be long waiting for games to fill so you're sent to another region.

There is an anticheat (Sentinel), it does actually work but is sometimes asleep in bed xd

I think to help with the hacking situation, of course more moderators but Replay Mode built-in the server be pretty cool. Then so if someone goes offline the ("/sr") report doesn't become useless.

Hello Unerit! First of all, I appreciate the feedback and I completely understand where you’re coming from. As I’m both a Moderator and a member of the Helper recruitment team, I think I’m in a pretty good position to address most of your concerns.

/Sr Reports
Just a week ago, you wouldn't have been able to play 3 GAMES, 3 GAMES!!!! of Bedwars (I'm guessing other games too) without encountering a very blatant hacker. The hacker would farm you, simply get diamonds or kill every team right away. No matter how many times they get reported, they never got banned, because they left, or cc just doesn't pay attention. I want to take a quote from my previous post's replies, "/sr is like gambling on a slot machine". If the player logs off, the report is salvaged. If too much time has passed, the report is salvaged.
As you know, /sr reports can only be handled if a Moderator is online to review them. We try to be online as much as we can, but there are inevitably some times of the day where in-game moderation is not covered. Reports are never closed because ‘cc just doesn’t pay attention’. That being said, I’m well aware of the current cheater situation and I will fully admit that this is something that needs improvement.

It’s a difficult situation to resolve because Moderators are volunteers, and all of us can only do as much as we can do. It’s also a collective (team-wide) issue rather than an individual one. I personally aim to moderate in-game for around 2-3 hours each day, which I feel is reasonable considering that I’m a full-time university student and I have a lot of family commitments on the side. But I can’t control how much time the other Moderators are able to spend in-game, and I would never try to tell them that they should be doing more when we are all just doing our best. The most reasonable solution would be to recruit more Moderators, which is a topic I’ll come back to shortly since you discussed it later in your post.

/sr reports closing when players log off is a very common complaint, and I understand that it can be exploited to get away without a punishment. But you also have to understand how important it is that this happens. It allows us to focus on reports where the players are still actively online and cheating, instead of assigning us to hundreds of offline reports where we can't do anything and allowing those other players to freely cheat in the meanwhile. For the record, if someone logs out while I am actively reviewing their report, I always wait some minutes to see if they come back online.

Personally, I am an Asia player and have only seen 2 moderators in my lobby before.
For the record, when we are online and handling reports you will not usually see us in the lobbies, because we’ll be busy spectating games 😉

The Forums
I already know what a moderator is gonna say if they see this thread; "Use the forums." The forums, in my opinion, are a complete waste of time. Cubecraft is mainly made up of little kids who play on mobile devices, and these people will not have time to go to a random website on the internet to report a random hacker.
Going back to the forums though, people a lot of the time don't record their gameplay of Cubecraft. Me personally, recording gives me a huge amount of random lag when turning my camera. This is a minor thing, but it's still annoying to go through just to report a player. Keep in mind that this is 75% of the time the only way you can get a player banned from the network.

I always encourage people who can record their screen to use the forums because it's very helpful for us, but if they can’t do that for any reason, then I don’t hold anything against them. No one is ever expected to record all their gameplay in order to report, but that is all we can advise to those who express their frustration about the /sr report system, because we do not have any other solution for them in that moment. Reporting on the forums is completely optional, and if it sometimes comes across as an expectation then that is not what we intended.

Also, the reason we need a direct link to a video is because we are required to share with the reported player the evidence that we used to ban them if it comes from a report, so we need a link to be able to do that.

I wouldn’t say that the forums are ‘a complete waste of time’, because they do allow players to report for non-cheating offences such as teaming, camping and chat offences. I think the problem is that they’re not really a viable option for dealing with this much constant cheating, which is something we never experienced to this degree in the past.

Anticheat
Cubecraft should be perfectly capable of implementing an anticheat like the Hive, yet they refuse to do so for some reason, even though they are one of the largest servers on Bedrock.
I can’t comment on the state of our anticheat specifically as I’m not a developer, but I can confirm that we do have an anticheat (Sentinel), and we also have an anticheat developer whose job it is to update it. However, there are a few general things that I know based on what developers have said in the past.

First of all, developing an anticheat is essentially a cat and mouse game. This means that, whenever Sentinel gets updated, cheat client developers are quick to create bypasses for it, meaning it needs to get updated again, and the process repeats. So Sentinel will never ever reach a ‘finished’ state; it’s going to need constant development for as long as CubeCraft exists. Additionally, every update that Sentinel goes through has to be thoroughly tested first, and even then there’s still a risk of it causing false bans when the update goes out, which obviously isn’t ideal.

Furthermore, Sentinel is custom built for CubeCraft, and Hive’s anticheat is custom built for them. It’s not as easy as saying ‘just implement [server]’s anticheat,’ because what works for them would most likely not be compatible with most of our gamemodes.

I will fully admit that Sentinel certainly needs some work, and I don’t think any other team member would deny this at this point. But it’s not as simple as the team ‘refusing’ to develop the anticheat. I myself have no coding abilities and very little technical understanding of anticheats or how they are developed, so I prefer not to make judgments like this.

Recruitment
Another thing I want to mention is applying for moderator. The Cubecraft team, as Thjis stated, does not have 200 moderators (as of November 2025). I feel like that is really the bare minimum that a server can have, and Cubecraft still fails to meet this.
We currently have 28 Moderators on the team. Yes, I would say that we are significantly understaffed right now. However, reading a bare minimum of 200 Moderators genuinely blew my mind. I’m sorry to say it, but that is just completely unrealistic. I’ve never heard of a server ever having that many Moderators in the history of Minecraft.

The demand for Cubecraft moderation is probably mainly to be able to ban cheaters on the Minecraft server itself.
You are correct that most of our time is spent on handling player reports, but there’s more to being a Moderator than just banning cheaters. I would consider that you may be missing the point of what Moderators are for. We are also role models and support for the community. We answer questions, help solve problems, host community events, and respond to feedback like yours. These things are as much a part of the role as enforcing the rules is. Ultimately, if you don’t enjoy interacting with the rest of the community, you’re sadly not going to enjoy being a Moderator.

It's likely due to the application criteria. You need to be active on the Discord server and the forums A LOT, and most people who have a life don't spend a lot of time on either of them, especially the forums. I applied for moderator twice, and my application was unsuccessful obviously because I'm not active on the dc or the forums at all.
There are several reasons why we require applicants to have some Discord and/or forums activity. First of all, Moderators are expected to moderate on all of these platforms, so it’s good for the applicants to get to know them and understand how they work. The Minecraft server may be the main platform, but it’s not the only one that matters.

Additionally, your activity within the community spaces is the best way for us to get to know you outside of your application. We can see how you interact with other players, what your communication skills are like, how reliable you are, how honest you are… the list goes on.

That being said, I don’t think that we expect a lot activity-wise, at least not as much as we have in the past. It’s worth noting that we value consistency over pure numbers, so for example, rather than needing 1,000 messages on Discord, you just need to have a consistent general level of activity that you feel able to meet (almost) every day.

If Cubecraft removes this criteria from being able to become a moderator, they'd definitely get many more moderators, ban more hackers, and give a more enjoyable experience to the average player.
Overall, trust plays a big part in Helper recruitment. The fact that we're looking for more Moderators should not result in us becoming desperate and removing all requirements. That would mean we end up promoting people who are potentially not ready to handle the responsibility, misuse their permissions, leak staff information, and generally do more harm for the server than good. I don’t mean for this to sound dehumanising, but it is very much about quality over quantity.

Again, thank you for posting your feedback. I hope that I have addressed the majority of your concerns that I feel qualified to, and if you have any further questions, please feel free to ask!

Thank you Lyra, for replying, but I just wanted to clarify a couple things as well about your response.

When I made my previous posts complaining about pretty much the same thing, many people suggested that Cubecraft could use a replay system to make banning offline hackers easier. You mentioned, that if you're reviewing a report while someone logs off, you wait for them to log back on within a short period of time. But what if they log on the next day, play one game, and go offline for a couple more hours? Banning them at that point is practically impossible, hence why Cubecraft needs a proper and reliable replay system. I'm not nearly good at developing or coding so I don't know what it would be like, but making some sort of replay system that developers could navigate through would do more good than harm. You mentioned you don't know much about stuff like this, but just take this into some sort of consideration because multiple people have suggested it.

Multiple people have suggested that I quit Cubecraft [though this is irrelevant right now] but I couldn't quit because of the amount of money I have spent on the server. Just wanted to mention this right now as I forgot to mention it in the actual thread.

Subscriptions in Cubecraft really only seemed to have one extra feature that legacy ranks don't have, which is access to private games. Most people who have a legacy rank usually just stick to one game and can buy a subscription from that game if they need to. Really, this makes the whole subscription gig unnecessary and making it seem like a really corporate move.

I'll leave it at this right now, if I were Cubecraft I would definitely add a replay system, but other than that the hacker system has a large flaw that can be fixed. I don't know the difficulty level of doing so but it'll improve player experience by a long shot, so it's always for the better.
