Dear Players, Developers, Admins, Mods, Helpers, and those individuals who spend more time on the forums trying to get the attention they didn’t receive as children.
I ask for an open mind, and a chance to articulate my point in this post as I will make the case as to why Cubecraft and those involved in it’s development and operations are leading this server down what I believe is the wrong path.
Tell me where I’m wrong, help me understand and please feel free to criticize my ideas and my arguments.
Reason Number 1:
Money > Customer Satisfaction
I don’t want to use the term “money hungry” anyone who throws this term around clearly has never owned or attempted to operate a business. However, the optics on this decision display a lack of respect for the customers. In any business this type of culture, and this type of model, is doomed to failure. Throughout history major and local companies have failed in their attempt to put their customers at risk in the pursuit of profit. Asking customers/players to purchase subscriptions, while for many years, players like myself have invested hundreds of dollars in ranks, perks, and cosmetics is unreasonable and unethical. I understand the value in selling a Private Games perk. However, how can you justify this, and justify implementing subscriptions when these ranks were purchased under the assumption that they were permanent? I ask those who participate in this server’s development and operations to choose a more reasonable and ethical approach.
Reason Number 2:
Seriously Mixed Up Priorities.
The amount of bugs, the amount of errors, the amount of sever lag and the feedback regarding this is absolutely embarrassing. I’ve made purchases on this server for myself and for others. I’ve NEVER had any error, or any issues of any kind while making a purchase. I have however encountered many errors while loading into games, playing on foreign servers, in game bugs that never seemed to get fixed, and don’t even get me started on the countless hackers who never get caught. Now, what’s the solution? Perhaps an ignorant, random player like myself could suggest a “Priority change” maybe we should spend more time resolving these issues rather than spending time and resources investing in ways to separate customers from their money. If you did. The money would flow in. That’s how good business has always worked.
Reason Number 3:
Creativity.
I don’t want to beat up on Cubecraft too much. This sever is great and I’ve played on it for many years, I’ve made friends on it, made memories, and some enemies too. When I say creativity I have to tip my hat to this sever and whoever’s idea it was to create Pillars of Fortune. It was genius. Honestly, when it came out I googled who invented it, and lo and behold, it was Cubecraft! Get back to that, get back to the drawing board and spend time on that. These types of new game inventions and innovations are what makes or breaks a video game and a good sever. Do this, and you’ll be around for many years to come.
Conclusion
To wrap this up, there will always be those who complain and those looking for attention, however there are those like me who want this sever to continue to thrive, but have legitimate grievances with what this sever is becoming. I hope this can provide some useful insights, or at the very least provide some perspective on customer feedback. Keep up the good work and I hope to see more people join and have fun on the server. I know I will.
Sincerely,
ManOfTheYearMC
