From my perspective as a Free For All player of the Battle Arena gamemode, the whole concept of substituting existing permanent ranks with temporary ones is disingenuous. It gives people unfair advantage in gamemodes like FFA where accounts that already purchased permanent ranks can forever select maps and spawns without worrying about paying for it, while newer players will be subjugated to the subscription system. Being able to select spawns is a crucial mechanic that allows for players to meet up much quicker in FFA maps and compete with each other. Limiting some people's ability to do that just because they weren't able to purchase the permanent rank in time is very unthoughtful and will result in drastic consequences for the Free For All community, and many other games. Newer people will lose motivation to play competitively, having to renew their subscriptions, while older players will slowly lose interest, and the gamemode(s) will slowly die. Please add the permanent rank back, if not as a re-replacement for the subscriptions, but at least as an option.
