In eggwars I actually see there no important for ememreld its actually need so much to upgrade and when u waiting for ememreld people gonna rush on you and break ur egg and there no really good stuff that gonna help u u can buy with emereld

Long answer: Emeralds are currently being updated so you may see them become more useful in the future, especially in late end-game where it's an arms race to get the best gear, and enchants will play a more significant role.
