This is a very rare situation but when you hit someone with the bobber of a fishing rod into the void, it doesn't count as a kill. it's very minor and barely anyone would notice if it was changed but i feel like it should count.

players might get slightly more annoying when i've called attention to this, but no one uses rods anyway so i think this wouldn't change gameplay at all, only stats
yeah but then it should initiate combat because snowballs and eggs certainly do, even though it isn't damage
Some time ago I realized what you are saying. I think this is a bug, since you don't get the kill because of this.
I agree it is almost certainly a bug bc like you said snowballs and eggs do count as kills
Yeah maybe but fishing rods feel like a big part of 1.8 pvp. Or maybe I'm weird
this is for bedrock no one uses rods yet. but that's probably cause we don't know how to
