add random spawn locations on the island to prevent this?

(Player dies, and respawns at a random place on their island)

Also get rid of build restrictions around spawn because players will be spawning anywhere, getting rid of the need for build restriction.

I don't know. I don't think this is an good idea, it can give bugs and might be annoying.

I rather not do that. I block up spawns quite a bit to prevent people from running to a generator and buying a new set of gear, and this type of feature would ruin that tactic completely. This is one of the few things you can do to prevent people from shopping again and again.
This is only something I use in team mode, since I frequently get into 2v1's or higher where I'm fighting one guy, whilst the other respawns and tries to get a cheap set of gear to only further damage my set. I'd like to keep the spawning system as is.
