Maps composed 80-90% underwater would be amazing to have,to swim around in and fight. FFA should be the first gamd to get this map. Its a lot easier to make an underwater map and /replace most of the air with water than to do the same thing for eggwars. Plus we dont have many FFA maps.

Water in PvP is rather tedious. I guess you meant as soon as the swimming mechanics of 1.13 will be out, but either way I disagree. PvP doesn't mix well with water.

Water is horrible for PvP.. Bowspammers will increase even more making PvP impossible
You can't even move in water, the pvp would be horrible. I think no-one would be playing that maps because of the water.

I have a solution - give everyone shields or restrict bows. For example for in FFA replace the archer kit with a trident kit and make bows non purchasable.

Agreed but only 20%. Sword PvP shouldn’t be too bad. Just the bows that worry me. I need to test this out but I dint have access to amy snapshot testing servers. I can only test it with dumb skeletons...

That's amazing! Just remove the bows and everything would be fine!
EDIT: Like Miauw said, replace the bows with tridents :O

I guess replacing a bow and arrow with a trident would be a good alternative, since the range of a bow is pretty much limited underwater which'll only be messy to deal with when there are several arrows floating around in the water. It would indeed need a lot of testing before considering to implement such an idea.

It would be cool to have some atlantic based map in FFA, however I don't see this to be added in EggWars, since EggWars is mainly about building your way over a void to a different island. Not sure what you had in mind about this, but it'd be kind of ruining the concept of the game if you could just swim over to a different island.

I tested it out in deep water by spawning 7 illusioners. In deep water, arrows are slowed down so bowspamming is useless. I killed all of them with a riptide loyalty I trident. But then again, if someone were to fire 7-8 arrows that would be hard to deal with if many people spam.

But using a trident works too so we can do anything.

I like this idea but... You can't breath underwater... Right? Plus if you add underwater maps remove/replace the bow kit because bows underwater... Nah

Water is cool in the new update but I don't think this is a good idea, pvp wont really work under water

How cringy are the 1.13 swimming animations going to look *sigh*. Getting out and into water seems like it is going to be buggy, what about just a water bucket, I'm worried, we don't need this change, we've had the same system for 7 years.
As for water PVP. The reason they probably won't have it is because it seems straight up unbalanced, first hits mean EVERYTHING because everyone takes reduced gravity, the combos will be insane even in 1.13. This is assuming everyone gets depth strider 3.

Not my entire post was about that, also if they remove mlg water bucketing I'll laugh, water has been the same for 5 years, I don't think we need a change now.

Skybasing in UHC would be so unbalanced yeah, also there was a time period on console (what an elegant platform) where 1 block deep water wouldn't catch your fall so you had to make sure you knew you were landing in 2 deep water otherwise you would die. Let's hope that doesn't happen with 1.13.
Edit: Also I watched LogDotZip's video of the new update and it looks like it is going to be buggy when not in lakes, I have a feeling people are going to have the swimming animations if they get water spilled on them. I guess hope mojang doesn't screw it up like 1.9?

I can understand technical players upset about their farms breaking but this is hilarious. A PvPer? The water mechanics can onky effect you in one possible way. And No, “MLG” water bucketing wont disappear. Once again, load the snapshot before going on these rants. They just make you look silly. You have no idea what your talking about.
