punch bows

OK so i don't hate nor love punch bows. but i have found that punch bows sometimes do little to no knockback and sometimes it knocks you like 7 blocks. why is that? i cant find anything online about this. is it only me that has noticed this.

i was exaggerating a bit but it is quite annoying. going to try to record some games and put together a video of this situation

i know its not cube craft that causes this. i was asking if others have this issue.

If you get hit in air (because you jumped or you're falling), you take increased knockback. This is for both melee and projectiles. I don't know if it's also the case for tnt knockback, potion knockback or any other form. Also when sprinting, your next hit deals increased knockback, so that also makes a difference (melee only).

Knockback is based of a lot of things. Like if you are sprinting or not and the fact that you are in the air of not (from falling or jumping)

So for example if you are sprinting with a speed potion and jumping at the same time and you are getting hit the knockback could be really big.
